Team Building with BSkyB

The Old 18th at Mariott Dalmahoy provided the perfect setting for a fun-filled and entertaining Team Building event with a highly competitive group from BSkyB.

The competitive spirit was already apparent before the teams were even picked, and the banter continued right throughout the afternoon of Team Building. Our two teams - the Tall Andrews and the A-Team (we know in our hearts that wasn't your real name!) - stepped on to the old 18th in anxious anticipation, preparing to compete head-to-head in a number of Team Building Challenges in a bid to walk home with the much coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. Who would walk away champions...? It would be only a few short hours before we found out...!

The teams were challenged to a number of tough Team Building activities, including Catapult, Sheep Pen and the ever-hilarious Plank Walk. The Team Building continued over at the Archery station, where a couple of would be Robin Hoods (Fiona and Graham) showed everybody how it was done by striking the very centre of the Gold...what absolulte legends! Unfortunately for many, however, those balloons just weren't big enough! We reckon that the main thing holding Derek back from complete success was the target distance, and he would have been much more suited to Olympic level competition...hmmmmm!

There were many highlights right throughout the afternoon of Team Building entertainment, some too lenghty or too rude to mention in this blog (Jim...!). However, I have included some of my favourite moments from the Team Building event in the next couple of paragraphs. My number one highlight had to be Kerri, now known as the Black Sheep of the Flock. It would seem that she enjoyed the use of blindfolds a little more than first expected, and her blatant cheating (or as she would say, using her initiative) in the Sheep Pen challenge really set her apart from the rest. And then there was all that Tall v Small business, which we won't go back into for the sake of Small Andrew...oooops!

The afternoon of Team Building came to a frantic and fun-filled climax on the Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, with both teams attempting to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. And wow, what a display we were treated to. Kieron was incredible, Dave was sensational, Sheena was unbelievable, Jim was...well, Jim was flukey, let's be honest! The Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting had been the perfect way to close a hugely entertaining Team Building session, and all that was left was the long walk back up the Old 18th and inside for the Trophy Presentation!

It had been a hugely close battle, one which could have gone either way, but unfortunately there could only be one team crowned champions. Just missing out on top spot, with a fabulous score of 3600 points, was the Tall Andrews, who stepped up to collect their Wooden Spoon with unashamed pride! And so, jumping up to sounds of rapturous applause and laughter (and the odd boooo from uber-competitive Derek) was the unstoppable A-Team, winners with a final score of 4200 points!

The afternoon of Team Building had been a huge success, and the entertainment had been throughly enjoyed by all in attendance. A big thank-you must go to Kathy, Kerri and all those involved in the organisation of the Team Builiding event which had been so memorable. The group from BSkyB had been an absolute pleasure to work with, and we hope to have the opportunity to see you all at the re-match!
