Team Building Crystal Challenge with United Biscuits

The beautiful setting of Castle Gardens in Lisburn played host to an afternoon of fun-filled entertainment with a group from United Biscuits in the shape of our ever popular Team Building Event, The Crystal Challenge.
The sun shone and a sense of nervous anticipation filled the air as the group took the short walk from their conference venue into the gardens, where they were met with a sight that may have made them even more nervous...the Leopard-Print Lover! After a short brief on how the afternoon Team Building Event would run and a bit of time spent gee-ing the teams up in preparation for the challenges that lay ahead, the teams were off! Barry's Bandits, The Unforgettables and The Warriors would battle it out across a number of fun and exciting Team Building tasks in a bid to earn as many crystals as possible, giving them time in the Crystal Dome at the end of the day. Only a few short hours stood in the way of finding out our victors...!
There were many highlights right throughout the afternoon of Team Building, some great laughs and some hilarious moments will undoubtedly become legend around the United Bisucits office, and maybe even beyond! There was the time when Barry got a little friendly with his team-mates on the Steeping Stones, and luckily we have the photographic eveidence to prove it! Jim, who used his 'initiative' on more than a couple of occasions at the Tube Test, and when Gareth just couldn't go any longer on the Towers of Hanoii, so decided to just take a seat...legendary!
Ring the Bell proved one of the toughest challenges throughout the afternoon of Team Building, especially for The Warriors, who managed to ring it so hard that it broke! Speaking of The Warriors, we would like to take this opportunity now to say that we have never met two 'rule-benders' quite as bad as Leila and Olivia before! But my personal highlight of the day, and I'm sure many others, was when Paul happily, proudly, lovingly stepped into that chicken costumes and paraded around till his heart was content...hilarious! What makes it that much more funny is that the costume actually kind of suits you!
With many crystals won and lost throughout the afternoon of Team Building, the big finale in the Crystal Dome had arrived. Each team would select one team member to step inside and collect as many golden tokens as possible. The tension was huge, but so was the cheering, inspiring the competitors onwards to phenomenal performances inside the Dome. With the tokens counted and verified, it was time to announce to finishing places, and collecting the Wooden Spoon this time around was (obviously) Barry's Bandits! The Unforgettables were just pipped at the post, leaving the mighty Warriors Team to step up and lift the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy high into the air, cheered on by rounds of applause that were head throughout the gardens.
The Crystal Challenge Event and afternoon of Team Building had been a massive triumph, and all involved thoroughly enjoyed their day. A big thank-you goes out to Alison, whose hard work and enthusiasm ensured that the Team Building session was such a successful one. The group from United Biscuits were a pleasure and great fun to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company look forward to seeing you all again soon
