Corporate Entertainment with Gleneagles
A 200 plus group from the magnificent Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire enjoyed a fantastic afternoon and evening of Corporate Entertainment in the shape of the inaugural Gleneagles World Cup, which was to be played out with Team Challenge Company.
Though there were plenty of Corporate Entertainment Activities on offer for all competitors and spectators to enjoy, the kick-off to the Gleneagles World Cup was, of course, the main attraction. Crowds streamed in from all over the Luxury 5-Star Spa Hotel and Golf Resort, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous 14 teams that would compete for the right to call themselves Champions, and take home the much-coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. Who would the have the honour of lifting it aloft...? Only a few short hours stood in the way of finding out.
Early rumours leaked to the media that both Bernard and Stuart had been coaxed out of International retirement by The A-Team were confirmed, and as the Corporate Entertainment started with a bang, it was anybody's guess as to who would finish top of the pile. As the Gleneagles World Cup kicked-off, other Corporate Entertainment Activities kept all in attendance in high spirits. The Bungee Run and Coconut Shy proved big favourites, as did the ever-popular Bucking Bronco. right throughout the afternoon.
Back to the Human Table Football, and there were a few hotshots on both pitches! Big Justin was a stand out player early doors – but had he peaked already in the early rounds, or would the gorgeous Spa Team play dirty when the going got really tough? Simon's Boys proved their worth in the early rounds, whilst Team Cashmere just went for goal every time...but rarely found it! It must be said that Bernard and Stuart put in full effort – and yes you did the noble thing in throwing some of the matches...!
The weather was pouring down outside as the Gleneagles World Cup Finals neared, but inside the fantastically appointed Gleneagles Equestrian Arena the temperature was scorching as the teams battled through round after round. Players begged to be sponged down as the goals kept pilling in and the tempers rose...but only slightly...! It was a close run thing as the masses gathered to watch the big final get underway between Wrath of Strath and Team Golf. In an unexpected twist, the Team Golf managed to outplay (and outmuscle) the sensational Wrath of Strath, and snatched Gleneagles World Cup victory from the jaws of defeat.
General Manager Bernard Murphy graciously presented the Winners Trophies, and it would seem he has already ensured he will be selected for next year's Winning Team...! A fantastic day of Corporate Entertainment had been enjoyed by all in attendance. The laughs were long lasting (as will be the sore muscles) and it had been a truly fabulous experience at a most memorable venue. A big thank you must go to Stuart Smith for organising such a hugely successful Corporate Entertainment Event, the entire team from Gleneagles were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company certainly look forward to seeing you all again soon.
