Glorious sunshine beat down upon the grounds of Houston House Hotel to set a perfect scene for an afternoon of Corporate Entertainment with Standard Life Investments.
The Corporate Entertainment was to round off a morning of conferencing in style, and as the guests made their way out onto the lawns a sense of eager anticipation filled the air. The group was quickly divided into their teams, and from the get-go it was clear that we were in for a hugely competitive afternoon of Corporate Entertainment. Our three teams would battle it out across a mix of Team Building Challenges and Corporate Entertainment Activities in a bid to score as many points as possible and take home the much coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy...Let the Games Begin!
The Corporate Entertainment kicked-off with our Helium Stick Ice Breaker, which was a lot more difficult than it first looked (as proved brilliantly by The A-Team). We then blasted straight across to Rollerball, where thinking outside of the box was key to success, as the Teams tried to keep a golf ball rolling for as long as possible using only the limited resources provided. Unfortunately for Team 2 and The A-Team, their competitors thought waaaay outside the box and recorded a quite incredible time of 97 seconds, and despite all of Owen's complaints, the early doors top marks went to seemingly unstoppable Team 1! A great way to start the Corporate Entertainment before moving into our rotational games.
The Teams then when on to compete across three Corporate Entertainment Activities - the hilarious Mini Highland Games, the ever-popular Archery and the one where all of Grant's dreams came true...the Sheep Pen! It was here where teams giggled the loudest and came closest to losing their way (especially with Eddie the Shepherd in charge), but big points were scored by all teams right throughout the afternoon. Team 2 performed sensationally on the Archery, and The A-Team were world-class Welly Throwers over at the Mini Highland Games, so all scores were incredibly tight coming into the big finale on Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting!
With a few quick rounds of practice and a quick explanation to Kaythie that she wasn't using a Bazooka, the last chance to to stake a claim for the Corporate Entertainment Championship was soon underway. Notable performers astounded the crowds, with Jennie, Jo, Dale and Fraser even surprising themselves with their success. The two Euan's had differing fortunes, one was exceptional, hitting nearly every clay he went for - the other was Euan Anderson! With the final scores checked and verified, it was time for the results...!
Stepping up to collect the Wooden Spoon to the sounds of rapturous applause and laughter (and the odd sigh of relief that it wasn't them) was the fantasic A-Team, with a final score of 4000 points. The top two were split but just 400 points, a tiny margin over the course of the entire afternoon of Corporate Entertainment, but this time around second spot went to the mighty Team 1. And so, jumping up with unashamed excitement to life aloft the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy was the sensational Team 2!
The afternoon of Corporate Entertainment had been enjoyed by all, and was brought to a close in style with a hilarious ride on the Bucking Bronco. A big thank-you must go to Jo, whose hard work and enthusiasm ensured that the entire day was massive success. The group from Standard Life Investments were a complete pleasure to work with, it was amazing to have professional photographer Peter in charge of the camera, and we at Team Challenge Company sincerely look forward to working with you all again soon.
