Around 120 employees of International Beverage were treated to a fun-filled and fabulous day of Team Building entertainment in the shape of our hugely popular Crystal Challenge Event.
A sense of nervous anticipation filled the air as the guests began to arrive on site, looking out across a sea of various Team Building Challenges. The big kick-off soon arrived, and with a quick introduction and brief to the Team Building Day (from the Leopard-Print Lover, whose jacket became strangely popular with a number of people throughout the day), the 14 teams headed out into the main Crystal Challenge arena. The teams, all named after various brand-name products that their company produces, prepared to take on of Team Building Challenges with the hope of winning as many crystals as possible throughout the day, all in a bid to compete in the Crystal Dome and take home the much-coveted Team Challenge Company Crystal Challenge Winners Trophy!
There were so many fun and hilarious highlights right throughout the entire day of the Team Building entertainment, far too many (and some too rude...) to mention in this blog. We have included a few of our favourite Crystal Challenge moments for your pleasure, and if you have any others please do write a comment at the bottom of the page and include your memories from the day. Our first highlight has to be our first Crystal Presentation, when both Team Pulteney and Team Speyburn were sitting there with empty crystal tubes...hilarious! And let's be honest, things hardly went from strength to strength...!
Further highlights have to include 'Peter Crouch 1 & 2', and then there was the Incredible Hulk and Big Bad Simon, all of whom were far to scary to mess with, but still the Leopard-Print Lover made sure they got their fair share of stick! Then there was the sensational final Team Building Challenge of the day, the mighty Bridge Build. The atmosphere was electric as one by one the teams stepped forward to put their constructions to the test. For many it really was mission impossible, especially for Dave the Rave and Mad Mark, whose driving let him down more so than the Bridge!
There was, of course, The Crystal Dome, which saw representatives from Mekhong, Speyburn, Phraya, AnCnoc and Barrogill enter in their attempt to become Crystal Challenge Champions. The action was fast-paced and furious, and there were some incredible performnces inside. Speaking of incredible performances, nothing personfies that phrase more than our Grand Darts Play-Off, which saw some of the most respected employees of Inverhouse Distillers play it out for the prize of an incredible trip to Thailand. The final came down to Christine and David, a most amazing test of nerves and willpower. A massive congratulations to David, who struck gold to the quite deafening applause of all his colleagues - thoroughly deserved!
As the dust settled from the darts shoot-out, the time had finally arrived to announce the final Crystal Challenge Scores. First thing first was the Wooden Spoon Winners, which this year went to Team Coldstream for their ridiculous 4 crystals...! All teams were given a huge cheer as we counted down to our top 5 that challenged for the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy inside the Crystal Dome. With just 50 tokens seperating the top two teams, this years undisputed champions were the quite sensational Team AnCnoc! Cheers rang aroudn the room as the AnCnoc stepped up and lifted the Crystal Challenge Trophy high above their heads!
A fabulous day of Team Building entertainment had been enjoyed by all in attendance, and the Crystal Challenge event had been hugely memorable. A big shout-out and a thank-you goes to Kim, Sam and all the team involved in organising the event, your effort and enthusiasm throughout ensured everything was a massive success. The entire group from Innternational Beverage a huge pleasure to work with, and all at Team Challenge Company look forward to seeing you all again soon.
