Typical Scottish Autumn weather surrounded Mercure Ardoe House Hotel as a lively and enthusiastic group from GE Energy enjoyed a fun-filled day of Team Building in the shape of our hugely popular Crystal Challenge Event!
A sense of eager anticipation filled the air as the group made their way out into the grounds to be met by The Leopard-Print Lover in all his Crystal Challenge glory! Any pre-match nerves amongst the group soon dissipated as they were divided into teams and given a glimpse of the fabulous crystals they would be playing for throughout the day. Many hilarious and exciting Team Building challenges lay in wait, and there was to be plenty of opportunity to bag those all-important crystals in a bid to make it into the mighty Crystal Dome. Which team would earn themselves enough time to grab those golden tokens and secure the much-coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy...there was only one way to find out!
As the 4 teams competed across the huge range of Team Building Games and Individual Crystal Challenges, there were an enormous amount of highlights from the day (some too silly or too rude to mention in this blog)! We have included some of our top moments from the day, please feel free to include your most fun memories in the comments section below. We kick off with James and that magnificent moment when James jumped out of the van fully-clad in his Farmer outfit...what a legend he looked, it seems the suit was made to fit!
Other highlights from the day of Team Building have to include Ally and his unorthodox approach to the Nail in the Wood Challenge! Rumours have circulated that loud booming sounds were heard as far North as Inverness and as far south as Dundee, and it has since been confirmed that it was just Ally missing the Nail and striking the Wood with all his might! Then there was the sensational Team 4 and their incredible display on the Towers of Hanoi...unofficial reports suggest that, yes Stuart, you may have indeed broken the World Record!
There was more to follow before the Team Building entertainment was done, and a big shout-out goes to Mark for his outlandish athleticism in the Flag Race...what a pace he was moving at, though I think he may have just heard the sounds of an Ice Cream around the corner and was simply chasing that...! And then there was the Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and Archery, where some of the eyesight was a little questionable to say the least! Lorraine's gun probably just wasn't working properly, because there is no way she could have been missing the target by THAT much...! Oh, and let us not forget those wonderful fashion items on display - a Salmon Pink T-shirt and lovely Christmas Jumper put even the Leopard-Print Lover to shame!
With the Team Building Crystal Challenge Event coming to a close, it was time to count up the crystals earned and head into the grand finale...the Crystal Dome! It seems Steve had a little too much fun inside the blistering winds of the Dome, and we had to point blank refuse when he asked to go in naked! With the final scores checked and verified, there was only one thing left to do...the presentations. Team 3 couldn't recover from their early set-backs, and found themselves stepping up to the Wooden Spoon. Teams 1 and 2 came in next, but none could top the magnificent performance of the unstoppable Team 4, who jumped up to collect their winners prize!
The Team Building Crystal Challenge Event had been a huge success, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. A big thank-you goes out to Lorraine, whose hard work, effort and enthusiasm in organising the day of Team Building really made sure it was a fantastic experience. The group form GE Energy were excellent fun and a complete pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company look forward to seeing you all again soon.
What a fun-filled and frantic day of Crystal Challenge Banter!
Hope you all had as much fun taking part as I had watching you all do whatever it took to grab a few extra crystals! I was so glad to see Mark and that T-shirt, it is the first time in a long time that I have been the most outrageously dressed person at one of our events!
Big shout-out for Lorraine and all her hard work in making the day of Team Building such a success! I must say though, I have never met anybody beg for bonus crystals as much as you...I guess that is just what it takes to be a Crystal Challenge CHAMPION!
A great pleasure to meet and work with all of you, and I hope to have the opportunity again in the near future.
PS - a private message for James, your Farmer's outfit is in the post and should be with you by next week...enjoy!
Top class team building at Ardoe House with GE Energy with such a competitive bunch of people. The crystals were coming thick and fast throughout the day and the awesome Team 4 had a well earned victory...Lorraine was delighted - it was worth all the effort in organising !!!!.
How is life as a Country Gent working out James ?
Hope to see you all again soon
