Four teams of budding detectives from Shell enjoyed a fantastic dinner and Evening Entertainment Event in the shape of a dark and sinister Murder Mystery Night at the beautiful Woodbank.
The four 'Sleuths and Cops' teams assumed their roles for the Murder Mystery Night enquires, picking apart the stories of some fiendishly talented actors and investigating the sequence of events that lead to the terrible mis-doings in "The Cook Who Corked It"...all in the course of enjoying a fabulous supper at Woodbank. The teams ranged from Susan's Angels, to Moulin Rouge (or was that Derek's Den...), from the Hand Sniffers to Team Fat Omega!
The teams were presented with the Murder Mystery Night story of " The Cook Who Corked It" , one of our authentic "Olde Worlde Experience" of Murder Mysteries. The Evening Entertainment kicked off before starters were served, and the guests were quickly transported into a world of fantasy and a devious murder investigation with an opening act that nobody would forget full of lust, passion , poison, intrigue and of course the death of the mysterious Mrs Bright herself...but nothing is as it seems with this Team Challenge Company Murder Mystery Night.
It was then up to the talented teams of table detectives to quiz the actors on everything they could possibly think of - from their whereabouts on the night of the murder to their crazy lustful antics with the other leading characters.... Just where was Mrs Bluetit that fateful evening, and why has Colonel Branston a dodgy knee, and as for the Reverend Bogie and his Father Jack impression !!!! It was to be a fantastic evening of fun, laughter and enjoyment...and of course hand sniffing as the individual table team sleuths battled it out to discover the truth behind the devious murder and bag themselves the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy in the process.
As the Evening Entertainment and Murder Mystery Night came to a close and the final accusations were made, it seems some detectives were about as useful as the infamous Inspector Jacques Cousteau from the Pink Panther Movies! The Fat Omega Team was given the dubious honour of last place for both their awful guess of the Culprit, Means and Motive and for their particularly poor handwriting- it ended up in the bin...must do better next time !
Luckily for the guests from the Shell, there were a few serious Miss Marples's amongst the tables who were close...but alas No Cigar! All in all, the smartest team - the Hand Sniffers performed outstandingly well getting The Accused, The Means and The Motive bang on, and it seems that perhaps Crime Scene Investigator is a realizable career path in the near future. The Hand Sniffers were presented with their Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy and the Evening Entertainment was hailed by all as a huge success , and we are quite sure that many of the guests have already begun watching re- runs of Inspector Morse and swotting up for their next Murdery Mystery Event.
Susan, Susan, Susan where did it all go wrong ?.... your brain must have been burnt out from all your excellent organizing of the event - you must put the feet up next time and watch "Murder She Wrote" beforehand !
Great night of fantastic fun, food and entertainment at the most excellent Shell Woodbank with great teams sleuthing it out throughout the evening.
Well done to the winners - Hand Sniffers - your dark secret is safe with us !!!
See you all again soon.
