It's a Knockout with BAE Systems

The past couple of weeks have seen all the excitement and anticipation of the Annual BAE Systems UK It's a Knockout Championships come to life, as both Glasgow and Portsmouth bases battled it out for the much coveted Team Challenge Company It's a Knockout Winners Trophy.

Team Building Glasgow September 2010Our News Story from last week covered all the action from the big kick-off to the two wet (mostly due to the weather), wild and wacky It's a Knockout Events, a showcase that is now embedded in both the BAE Systems and Team Challenge Company Summer Calender. There were so many (and some so rude) fun-filled and fabulous highlights from across both It's a Knockout Events that it is simply impossible to mention them all in this blog, but we have included some of our favourite memories over both glorious days! If you have any hilarious and fantastic highlights from your It's a Knockout experience, please share the joy and include a comment at the bottom of this page.

Team Building Glasgow September 2010 009BAE Systems Glasgow kicked-things off in style at the beautiful Westerwood Hotel, and with 8 teams doing battle for that Team Challenge Company It's a Knockout Winners Trophy, there was sure to be plenty of mayhem ahead. The It's a Knockout action had only just begun, and almost instantly the infamous Davey Jones was sticking his very unsafe oar in during the Wheel-Barrow Race, hoping to see the 'athletes' (used in the loosest sense of the word, of course) clip and slide all over the place. Thankfully, only Team 2 obliged, it seems that many of the guys had left their running spikes/stiletto heels behind them for the day!

Team Building Glasgow September 2010The Indoor It's a Knockout action was most definitely amongst the most memorable, as all teams showed off their focus and skill at the 4x4 RC Car Racing and the Indoor Laser Shoot...it is just such a shame that Team 8 didn't seem to have any focus or skill what-so-ever! Our funniest memory from It's a Knockout Glasgow was definitely over at the Target Zone, where Team 5 were so focused on safetey that they decided to just not hit any targets at all with their Air Rifles (well, they did actually score 5 points out of a possible 150, but come on!) With the Glasgow scores counted and verified, all that was left to do was award the prizes. This years Wooden Spoon went to the ever-trying Team 5, but the gleaming It's a Knockout Championship Trophy was picked up by the quite sensational Team 4!

Team Building Southampton September 2010 44The BAE Systems UK It's a Knockout Championships then travelled way down South, as the Portsmouth Crew prepared for everything that Team Challenge Company could throw at them. With Davey Jones once again on the prowl, all competitors worked fantastically well together to ensure that safety stayed a constant priority. The rain poured and the thunder crashed (or was that just the sound of 'Peter Crouch' falling off the Gladiator Duel...?) but the fun and enjoyment continued right throughout the afternoon of It's a Knockout Entertainment. The Raise the Duckie Race was a great deal easier for many teams as 'excess water' hammered down from above. Though, I can't quite believe Team 3 did so well with those Team members!

Team Building Southampton September 2010The Inflatable Zone saw much of the craziest fast-paced action throughout the It's a Knockout Event, with the Bungee Run producing some of the more soaking-wet and hilarious memories. The Indoor It's a Knockout Zone also proved a big hit, though it seemed many from Team 6 struggled to even see the targets they were aiming for on the Laser Shooting! Then there was, of course, Team 4, the most outrageous complainers we have ever met...what are the chances that there was nothing wrong with your Big Screen Games controller and that you were just all rubbish at it...? Once again, the scores were tight throughout, but this time the Wooden Spoon went to the most deserving...Team 4! Team 2 had been mighty throughout the entire It's a Knockout Event, and stepped up proudly to claim the magnificent Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy.

Team Building Southampton September 2010 87This years Annual BAE Systems UK It's a Knockout Championships had been a huge success, both in Glasgow and Southampton, and we are quite sure everybody left with fantatsic memories of their time battling it out in the rain for victory! A big thank-you goes out to all who were involved in orgainsing the It's a Knockout Events, with special mentions for Angela, Jo, Ailie, Sam - your hard work, enthusiasm and effort really ensured the It's a Knockout Events were not to be forgotten. It was an absolute pleasure to work with all from BAE Systems once again this year, and we sincerely look forward to seeing you all again for the re-match!
