Despite the cold weather, the Team Challenge Company team were hyped up and raring to deliver a high-energy, fun filled Corporate Race Night and Quiz with Kenmore Hotel at the beautiful Perthshire venue.
Following a great inspirational presentation and welcome from General Manager, Norma Lindsay our Corporate Interactive Race Night and Quizkicked off to a hugely competitive start.
With over 50 guests the atmosphere was electric, and though it may have been a seriously cautious gambling start, once the crowd got into theinteractive action there was no stopping them making and losing money. The Interactive Quiz Guess Who round proved to be tough for the men, with a few wild guesses though chef Jack loved the photos of Anna Kournikova - if it wasn't for the Musselburgh team we may have had our first boycott on our hands from the Management! With 5 teams competing, it was very disappointing to only award 50 pounds to team Musselburgh, with the Hamilton team coming out on top...shame on the rest of the teams for trying to cheat! The Kelso team deserve a special mention for achieving an excellent score in the Movies Round, with a hugely impressive score of 90 pounds..unfortunately, we are unable to provide such high praise for the Perth Team with only 60 pounds - must read more Hello magazines cover to cover next time !
The teams were a little reserved in the splashing the cash in the first fewRace Night races when it came to placing their bets, but after a big windfall by one of the teams the bookie had to employ security in order to cope with the demand. The final event on the Race Night agenda was the ladies race, always a source of fun and laughter and it was sure not to disappoint - what about that Dirty Dancing - Gunars !!!! . The ladies picked their thoroughbreds and off they went galloping their way to victory...I think all those involved in these crazy antics deserved to be the winner ! And yesNorma that was the biggest hat EVER to be worn in Kenmore !
The highlight of the Evening Entertainment event has to be the Music QuizRound, within everyone clambering for points - never have we witnessed such an outrageous spectacle especially during one song especially for our English Neighbours- Jason you should have got that one ! . Many teams pulled out all the stops in their attempt to win, however, the Kelso was rewarded with a standing ovation from the crowd after producing what can only be described as pure quality result throughout the evening, a fantastic result that had the entire audience in awe.... and yes Yvonnewas the noisiest by a long way !
The Evening Entertainment never really ended to be fair with all the teams hitting the dance floor and busting their moves! Names are being kept under wraps for legal reasons, but the trophy was always in safe hands -Gillians team who was keeping it close and was delighted when her team were crowned champions. It was a close competition throughout the Race Night and Quiz, with the Perth and Hamilton teams coming in 2nd and 3rd, but it was the Musselburgh team that stole last place with a wooden spoon , but we won't mention that here will we?
We would like to thank the team from Kenmore Hotel and a special thanks to Norma for another great event, it is always a pleasure working with you and we look forward to your next Team Building event in 2011.
Norma, Norma, Norma where did it all go wrong ? ! Well probably on the first round to be honest ! But on the plus side you do wear a mean flouncy hat at the races !
Great night at the delightful Kenmore Hotel and congratulations to the awesome Kelso Team for an outstanding performance throughout the evening - we knew it meant a lot to them winning when Gillian had the trophy on a chain proudly round her neck next morning at reception - and why not !
Bet that was a painful sight for Jennifer - shame your beginners luck ran out early doors !
Hope to see you all again soon at Kenmore Hotel .... you guys rock !!!!
Stephen
A huge Thank You to Stephen, Bob and Ewan of Team Challenge Company, who provided us with a unique evening of entertainment by taking us to 'the Races'. Gosh, you guys work SO hard, with no attention to detail left to chance, although I STILL maintain the picture you claimed was Mark Lawrence was indeed Lenny Henry!
Everyone, to a man, is STILL talking about the evening, but I think it would be fair to say none of us is considering a change of career - unless of course it involves me getting to wear an even BIGGER hat!
Our collective appreciation to you all once again for a fantastic night - here's to the next time!
PS: The trophy is still being shown off at Reception, and in fact Gillian has been seen drinking her coffee out of it!
