Team Building with Wood Group

Team Building was the order of the day at Ardoe House Hotel for the team at Wood Group Turbine.

The group of 19 were split into 2 teams and they made their way through the Team Building activities across the afternoon to see which team would be taking away the Team Challenge Trophy.

Team Building, AberdeenHelium was the first Team Building activity for the group to get their teeth into and what a great start to the day that was. The teams jostled back and forth to see who come out victorious and the winner was......  Front End captained by the master Ian. We gave the teams a second chance to double their points and up stepped Front End to pull through in the last 10 seconds to catapult them further in the lead and shouts from the team were "Catch us if you can "

Then the teams split up and moved out to take on the Team Building challenges of Rollerball and Stepping Stones. Team Front End were first up at Rollerball and went straight for a contraption that looked like something out of Back to the Future but Samantha pulled a top drawer idea out and her solution was agreed and applauded by her team-mates and delivered a result close on 30 secs. However, the clever clogs at The Executioners proved they too have the necessary Team Building skills and really stepped up their game and their simple but effective idea and superb build quality was a thing of great beauty and delivered an outstanding 40 plus seconds...who knew!

Team Building AberdeenThe Team Building fun continued over at Stepping Stones and was a comical affair starting with Dave singing songs to keep The Executioners moving, then they battled with each other from start to finish but in the end came out with full marks by going the distance. Team Front End was a completely different kettle of fish; they were focused and motivated by Carolyn taking nice pictures - 'work it baby' , even though they were working the camera they still came up trumps before the final whistle by completing under the allocated time. Good effort Front End!

Team Building AberdeenThe next two Team Building activities came thick and fast, the first of which was Blind-intent. The teams were very apprehensive for this task as all team members were giving a blind fold except from Dave who brought his all they way from Dubai with matching Red handcuffs, Respect! haha. They battled to the end but only one team completed this Team Building task and the other couldn't build a tent to save themselves. Well done Team Front End for completing the task in a record time. For The Executioners we have got the invoice for the tent ready, we just need one of your team to forward your address.

Team Building AberdeenThe finale was the Team Building favourite Bridge Build and the task of 15 mins was set to complete. Their was lots of competitive discussion in the teams as to which design was going to be the winner as both teams came up with 2 different designs. One of the teams Bridge looked like a winner and the others was a complete mess. Both were given a chance to drive their car over the bridge and only one team came out victoriuss and that team was... Team Frontend!

Team Building AberdeenAfter totting up the scores their was a clear winner for the day; leading from the front and truly deserving their win was Team Front End with a impressive score of 5600 points and in 2nd/Last position The Executioners scored a respectable 4400 points. Well done to both teams for making this Team Building day a great afternoon. Keep your heads up The Executioners as we look forward to the re-match.
