It was an early start for the Fundtech team at the beautiful Grovefield House, as the 22 strong group were woken up by the smell of bacon rolls and coffee. The teams gathered in the conference room looking bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for a great day of Team Buiilding and Corporate Entertainment. The group was split into 3 teams and asked to name their teams, but after the names were read out we wished we had picked them ourselves. Would you agree Mark?
The teams made their way out onto the extensive grounds to try their hand at the Team Building Challenge Blind-in-Tent, the Wougers stood out the early as Mallik got lost half way going to the pen, holding onto shoulders is aparently quite hard task. Jo sat back, relaxed and called out for a gin and tonic while she waited for instructions from her team C*** Heavy showed their true colours by being a bit heavy handed, you know who you are.
With mixed skills in the Target Zone Archery section everyone knew the final results were going to be very close. Lorraine's unusal technique saw her hit the target only once from 8 arrows tut tut. Simon confessed he was enjoying himself a little too much and kept going to aiming high. We got some info from the group that maybe he was stilling drinking shots from his hip flask. However, droopers were shot by Grant and Mark. Next time lads maybe try the little blue tablets. But Wougers came out on top after bursting an impressive three baloons. If you think that's impressive you should have seen their bridge; it was a masterpiece well constructed by the whole team led by Andrew which did get little Tom Cruise over in his lovely car. Not only did the Wougars get him over even the sinkers completed this task. We would love to say all 3 completed this task but the monstrosity from C*** Heavy made us all laugh and you could hear the music from a far "Who let the dogs out" haha. Unlucky lads there is always next year
C*** Heavy took on the Laser Clays Challenge first. They looked to be poor in their practice. After a team talk they pulled up their trousers and got top dollar as the sharp shooters in their team couldnt miss a single clay. Sinkers looked worried by this challenge as they thought it might be their weakest one. After a quick Bully bribe with Euan they started to rack up the points.
Nasa, th next Team Building challenge was enjoyed by all, but up stepped team Wougers to take this challenge by the horns They made a few major mistakes which cost them a lot of points and were causalities of the space program. Sinkers were next, they were getting in the grooves until Amiir got his oar in and then they struggled not our words Amiir, your team's lol. C*** Heavy were last on this challenge with many good answers winning them the most points.
Rollerball was a hard challenge for all teams but there were a few impressive contraptions none the less. Team Sinkers and Wougars gave their all but their was only one team taking away the points and that was C*** Heavy with a great time of 40.8 seconds. Then it was time for the big fianle at Laser Clays where we all thought this was going to be close but the Wougers stole the show!
We collated the points and after they were checked and verified there could be only one winner and that was Team Wougars with an impressive score of 6450 points earning them the chalice of champions that beautiful Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy. In 2nd Palce were the Sinkers with 4750 points and pulling up the rear C*** Heavy with a respectable 4350.
A big thank you must go out to Sarah for organising such a great day of Team Building activities and we here at Team Challenge Company we look forward to the re-match!
What a great day we all had with the teams from Fundtech. Couldn't stop laughing all day at the hilarious banter of the group. The Wougers performance on Blind in Tent was impressive, especially considering their priority seemd to be the Gin and Tonics. All in all a fantastic day and I look forward to seeing you next time.
