Selex Galileo Annual Corporate Fun Day

Winner - CompetitionsThe Team Challenge Company office was alive with a buzz of excitement as the beginning of June rolled around, and the Selex Galileo summer bbq came into view. This year's promised to be bigger and better than ever before, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

It was an early start for the Team at the magnificent Hopetoun House to ensure everything was ready and in order for our guests arrival at 12pm. As the crowds began to filter through the gates they were treated to a wonderful sight, as they looked out across the sea of Corporate Fun Day entertainment that lay in store for them throughout the afternoon. Though the sun was hidden by the clouds for much of the day, a glow of excitement and anticipation emanated from all on arrival.

Bar Fly - Inflatable FunThere was a host of brand new Corporate Fun Day activities and Inflatable Fun at this years summer bbq, many of which were on their first outting, ensuring an extra special day for our Selex Galileo guests. There was the wonderful Barfly Inflatable, its popularity only matched by our brand new centre-piece of the Corporate Fun Day; the mighty Human Demolition. This was a hit not only with the children, but also a welcome means of stress relief for the adults.

Surf Simulator - Inflatable FunThroughout the day our guests were treated to amazing performances by the Great Silvano whose magic skills were beyond compare and left audiences wondering time and time again 'How is that possible?'. Dozer the Clown also took centre stage with his Clown Workshop as he began to train the next generation of comedy clowns (and some parents too!)

Winner - CompetitionsThere were various competitions at intervals throughout the afternoon and right from the off the competitive spirit of some of the participants was astounding. First up was the Surf Simulator and there were plenty of people left disappointed as they soon took an early bath and discovered that it wasn't nearly as easy as Erin made it look. Particularly for Anne who got points for effort and a huge cheer for her spectacular dive from the board, arms flailing and legs akimbo.

Winner - CompetitionsThe Archery competition was similarly difficult with few making it through to the winner's enclosure and even fewer into the grand Finale. When presented with a target full of balloons Bert, more affectionately known as Grandad, took the crown with a sterling shot popping the centre-most balloon much to the delight of his adoring fan club.

Bucking Bronco - Inflatable FunThe Bucking Bronco was the final competition of the day in the Inflatable Fun section and it did not disappoint in terms of skill and entertainment value. There were of course some whose comedic value cannot be underestimated such as Shonagh whose attempts to climb atop the bull resulted so many times in her vaulting over it that she had to be carried up only to fall off seconds later. It was down to Laura to claim the title of Calamity Jane for the day with her staggering time of 55seconds, which not even the adults could come close to beating.

Races - CompetitionsTowards the end of the afternoon of Corporate Fun Day entertainment came the Kid's and Adults Knockout Races from the retro favourite space hopper dash to the good, old fashioned classic that is the sack race, there was much to keep the crowds entertained. There were plenty of laughs, sometimes with the racers and sometimes at them! This provided the perfect end to a wonderful Corporate Fun Day with everyone from Selex Galileo and has only made us look forward to next year even more. Until then.

What a fantastic day! The rain stayed away, everyone was smiling and the competitions were great. Bert was a true star on the Archery and I am convinced his success was down to the ecstatic cheering on of his lovely grandaughter.
Lots of laughs over in Children's Corner with the fantastic face paints that were turning lovely children into even lovelier butterflies or little monsters.
Big shout out to Kevin for all of his work in organising such a great day for everyone. As always, it was a pleasure and I can't wait to do it all again.
