Team Building with BP

Team Building ManchesterAfter a slight delay caused by the terrential weather conditions the party of graduates from BP shrugged off the rain, got their ponchos on, their tops off in some cases (yes Etap boys - I mean you!) and ran outside for their afternoon of Team Building and Inflatable Fun Finale in the grounds of the beautiful Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen.

The afternoon kicked off with a brief photo session as the guys had a chance to showcase their Hawaain shorts that seemed to be the unofficial uniform of the day. The twelve teams then split off for their first set of rotations.Over at Casket Rescue several teams were loving the melodrama of it all and seemed to thrive under the potential danger. Only two and a half teams managed to complete this successfully and unfortunately Magnus wasn't one of them. After assuring us that their design 'absolutely could not fail-foolproof'  they were quick to back track when it became apparent just how misplaced this confidence, come may say arrogance was. Andrew, Alan and Toby, good effort Bawbag!-enough said.

Team Building LondonArchery  was a definite favourite of the teams, including Team Miller and Team Schielhalion whose skills were noted and comended. Steph and Emma were just two of the girls attempting the Maid Marrion look for the day and doing it pretty well. Rollerball was another of the Team Building challenges in store for the teams and was one for all of the engineers and construction experts amongst the groups. It suddenly got very competitive for Sophia and the rest of her team mates when they realised they were up against the clock.

Team Building It's a Knockout ScotlandThe Catapult challenge was one for the lost boys in us all, getting to build a contraption to hurl balls through the air. Most teams were successful at this station, or at least competent, including Team Bruce who were just out to have fun and get it done as best they possibly could. Having such a relaxed strategy seemed to work for them anyway and somehow caried them through the day. Stepping Stones was another Team Building favourite this afternoon and caused quite a stir for Team Ula. Clearly forward planning and strategy thinking was low on the list of priorities compared to getting inside to dry off and having a hot cup of tea. Heading inside teams were faced with the Giraffe Build Task and the creative zeal of some of the girls in the design and decoration of their giraffes was something to behold. Although it did appear that Jason had some problems with keeping his up, freestanding giraffe that is.

As an action packed Inflatable Fun Finale teams were all prevented by going inside only  by the promise of a tumble in the Giant Assault Course and a tumble they did take. The sudden bursts of energy from the boys was phenomenal as they were raring to go at the sight of this inflatable strip of heaven. Everyone took a turn blasting through in pairs and emerging from the tunnels giddy with child - like excitement. There were even a few cries of 'Again, Again, Again.'

Team Building ScotlandFollowing this final piece of hilarity the scores were totted up and handed into Jonathan the official host who had the pleasure of declaring Team Andrew the deserving winners, having just pipped Team Valhal to the post. Delighted they took a bow to the adoring (jealous) audience and gleefully cradled their prize - the Golden Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy. In last place was Team Foinaven and so it was down to them to step up and claim the booby prize, the Loser's Wooden Spoon. All of the teams then joined us in our thanks of Jason and the team for all of their hard work in organising the day for everyone (it's just a shame they didn't quite manage to get the weather right!) Everyone had a fantastic day of Team Buliding Fun and we hope to see you all again in the future on a day with a little more sunshine.

Even after a morning of terrential downpour I was so impressed that nothing seemed to dampen your spirits and it was amazing to see you all get stuck in anyway and have such a good time.
It was a really great afternoon with lots of highlights, the warm up was definitely a sight to see as was the topless performance on Casket Rescue and the Assault Course was the perfect end to a great day.
You all did so well, and special thanks of course must go to Jason for working so hard to put all of this together, it's just a shame that he managed to come last even after knowing what all of the activities were way before hand! I look forward to the next time we meet.
