What better way to enjoy the Great Outdoors than with a Scavenger Hunt on Royal Deeside based in the lovely village of Ballater - we knew we were on a winner when Gordon strode across the car park to be first for the challenge - but alas the rest of the team was lost - we heard they were in the antiques shops trying to wrangle a bargain! A great start to the Opito Team Building Scavenger Hunt gave all those present the opportunity to enjoy some Corporate Entertainment with Team Challenge Company in the shape of a fairly adventurous Scavenger Hunt- despite the 4 seasons during the afternoon!.
The Indiana Jones Wanna-Be's were split into two teams and given the brief for their Scavenger Hunt mission...which thankfully they chose to accept, especially when Liz heard that shops would be involved!!! The Corporate Entertainment challenged the teams to use the contents of their rucksacks to collect various items from around the village and beyond which was split into colour coded zones with lots of photo opportunities to prove what clever teams they really were - always on the look out for a number of cryptic clues and questions which would guide the teams throughout Scavenger Hunt and onto winning the coveted Team Challenge Trophy later that afternoon.
Whilst Team 2 bravely headed out into the wilderness, Team 1 stayed behind for the first few minutes to try to earn some bonus points early doors on planning their route - even though it was straight to the legendary Sweetie Factory. The Corporate Team Building and Entertainment was quickly off and running, and both teams were collecting photos in no time, and heading out around the village jumping into phone boxes and trying to bribe the ladies at the Tourist Information Centre - then out and about to enjoy the beautiful scenery - brolleys at the ready!
Having found an impressive array of clues and solved hidden riddles during their afternoon mission, and solving the cryptic clues with relative ease (very smart teams, apparently...!) Team 2 headed up by John were headed to the rendevouz point and finishing as many questions as they could before Team 1 could make it back to base...it was going to be close, nobody knew where to look - in fact nobody knew because they couldn't read the map! As the Corporate Entertainment challenge came right down to the wire, who would come out the other side victorious...? With just a few moments left, it was anyone's guess!
With the Corporate Entertainment clue finding Scavenger Hunt challenge over, it was time to run through the answers to the questions look at the photos and to add up the all-important scores and announce the winning team. It had proved incredibly close, with Team 1 outscoring Team 2 in the photo puzzles, but Team 2 were undoubtedly performed better in the Scavenger Hunt quiz sections. In the end, Team 2 pipped it by just a few points, even though John had asked every native of Ballater and tourist for the answers throughout the day - Duchess of Gloucester ?????! what a tremendous result and the Team Building Winners Trophy was thoroughly deserved by all the team members - just look at the photos to prove it!
A great afternoon was enjoyed by all who were present during the Corporate Entertainment Scavenger Hunt, it proved to be the perfect opportunity for some gentle exercise and really brought the whole group together in light hearted competition for a fun-filled event. Maureen and Liz did a great job in organising such a successful event, and all at Team Challenge Company look forward to working with everyone again soon- hopefully in the sunshine next time!
Gordon, Gordon, Gordon, where did it all go wrong - you should have gone out on your own - especially since you were the only one to find the start point at the right time !
Shame about the weather - four seasons in one day !
A big shout out to Maureen and Liz for their organisation - I hear Liz is still in the shops !
