Team Building with Ernst & Young

Another fantastic day of Team Building lay ahead for Ernst & Young at the fabulous Scouts Complex at Templars Park, and as the sun broke through the trees on a misty morning, all could be sure than a fun-filled day lay ahead.

Team Building Aberdeen 15 July 2011The Team Building entertainment kicked off following the devouring of many a morning Danish, all of which had been beautifully baked by Moira. The group was quickly split into 15 teams which would rotate around 5 different stations, some of which gave the teams the opportunity to score points towards their final total in a bid to take home the Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy. The teams would be given given their instructions at each of the Team Building challenges and were set about completing their task within the 20 minute time-frame. Now I'm not a betting man, but if I had to put my money on anyone, it wouldn't have been Team  Orange 2...who looked like they were in trouble early doors and in contention for the Wooden Spoon right from the off!

Team Building Aberdeen 15 July 2011With 3 teams going head-to-head at each Team Building activity, we knew that there would be plenty of jostling back and forth throughout the day, and we were not disappointed! Interlocker certainly proved to be a highlight of the day, with teams were trying their best to out wit each other early on. We even had the Olympic gold medallist Dim, by far the fastest runner over a 30 yard sprint (with a record time of 6.2 seconds!), pushing her team to finish the quickest. And then there was Gillian, who shouted from the soles of her feet so loudly that she could be heard in Banchory! But were her team-mates listening to her...? What do you think...! In the end our Interlocker Team Building challenge proved difficult for many, with only two teams managing a full completion, the mighty Team Orange 1 and Team Yellow 1!

Team Building Aberdeen 15 July 2011The day of Team Building continued with the ever-challenging (and ever-hilarious...)Catapult! There were plenty of unorthodox designs and contraptions, some of which we have never seen the like of before, and the lead changed hands dozens of times throughout the session. Following an overview of many of the Catapult designs, Mike has kindly offered to enroll every single one of you in the Scouts for the next three years so you can finally learn how to tie a knot...it seemed that half of the teams in attendance were lucky if the could tie their own shoe laces! A massive cheer erupted around the grounds as Team Blue 2 struck gold with an enormous lunch, just pipping Team White 1 at the finishing line and scoring maximum points!

Team Building Aberdeen 15 July 2011With the final Team Building scores checked and verified, the time for the Trophy Presentation had arrived. However, not before the mighty Wooden Spoon was awarded to Team Orange 3 for their last place finish of the day...perhaps too much time was spent discussing fashion advice for that evening! The tension in the room really built towards a final crescendo, with 3 teams coming very very close to top spot on the leaderboard. There could, however, be only one winner, and stepping up to rapturous applause to collect the Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy was the sensational Team Orange 1! I know what you're thinking, how did they manage such an achievement with the Memory Man (AKA Darren) in their team...? We will never know!

A fantastic day of Team Building had been thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the entire day was a great success. A big thank-you goes out to MikeJenni and Moira for all their hard work and effort in organising such a fun-filled day of Team Building. The Ernst & Young Team were a pleasure to work with as always, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I think Stephen made a mistake I'm sorry Darren he mis-spelled he meant YOUR'E FIRED HAHA

It was fun and informative from begining to end and people like Gillian in the team we knew we were in for a great day.

In the end their was only going to be one winner and what a Sterling job they did, even tho Darren was in their team.

Again a great day of Team Building and we look forward to your next event and thanks again to Moira for staying up all night baking the fabulous buns.
