The glorious summer weather at last arrived at Mercure Ardoe House Hotel for the Aker Solutions Corporate Entertainment event with a highly competitive group from both the Aberdeen and Norway Offices .
The competitive spirit was already apparent before the teams were even picked, and the banter and slagging-off continued right throughout the afternoon of Corporate Entertainment - including that sign on poor Abdul's back! Our five teams stepped out of the conference suite and onto the grounds in anxious anticipation, preparing to compete head-to-head in a number of Corporate Entertainment Challenges in a bid to score as many points as possible and walk home with the much coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. Who would walk away champions...? It would be only a few short hours before we found out...the game was on!
The teams were challenged to a number of tough Corporate Entertainment activities, including the Archery station, where a couple of would be Robin Hoods - namely No. 23 - showed everybody how it was done by striking the very centre of the Gold...what an absolute legend! Unfortunately for many, however, those balloons just weren't big enough! We reckon that the main thing holding Laura back from complete success was the target distance, and she would have been much more suited to Olympic level competition...hmmmmm! Haakon showed what he was made of with awesome scoring right from the off - way to go !
There were many fun-filled highlights right throughout the afternoon of Corporate Entertainment, some too lengthy or too rude to mention in this blog. However, I have included one of my favourite Corporate Entertainment moments below. The number one highlight of the day had to be Ody, now known as the Bad Boy of the Group. It would seem he enjoyed the Quad Bike course so much he decided to make his own - ploughing straight off-line and through the safety fencing...oooops, but that's why it's there after all!
The afternoon of Corporate Entertainment was full of surprises and shocks as the teams fought it out on the Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, with all five teams attempting to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. And wow, what a display we were treated to on the Mini Highland Games, with Team 3 stepping up to knock it out of the ball park. Team 5 was incredible on the Target Golf but Team 3 was dismal - let's be honest! The Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting sorted the wheat from the chaff, it really was th perfect choice to bring a fun-filled day of highly competitive day of Corporate Entertainment to a close. All that was left to do was make the short walk back up to the Crathes Suite inside for the Team Challenge Company Trophy Presentation!
The day of Corporate Entertainment had been an an incredibly close battle, one which could have gone either way, but unfortunately there could only be one team crowned Champions. Bringing up the rear and coming in at 5th place (we won't say last..!) with a score of 2900 points, was Team 1, who stepped up to collect their Wooden Spoon with unashamed pride! And so, jumping up to 4th was Team 2 scoring 3100 points, and then on to Team 4 in 3rd place with a socre of 3200 points. Just missing out on top spot was the unlucky Team 3, scoring 3400 points, which left the sensational Team 5 to step up and claim Corporate Entertainment victory to the sounds of rapturous applause and laughter (and the odd boooo from uber-competitive Laura) with an unstoppable performance and final score of 3500 points - quality effort !
The day of Corporate Entertainment had been a huge success, and the fun and laughter had been thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance - just look at those photos! A big thank-you must go to Laura for all her hard work and effort in organising such a memorable Corporate Entertainment event for all. The group from Aker Solutions had been an absolute pleasure to work with, and we hope to have the opportunity to see you all at the re-match!
Ody - What a man on the Quad Bikes ! Thank goodness to have Abdul there to keep everyone safe with a capital P !
Super day at the beautiful Ardoe House with Aker Solutions and thankfully the sun shone throughout the event this time round.
Learnt a few new motivational words from Laura as she pumped her team up at every opportunity- so everyone in the office now answers to ' yer a xxxxx ' when I need to motivate them !
Looking forward to the re-match I bet Haakon is already out in the woods with his bow and arrows !

It was a pleasre to welcome Aker for their fun Teambuilding at Ardoe and as i said to Laura we would bring the Sun only if she brought us Red Bulls and her team delivered thanks to Haakon.
It was fun from start to finish with this team. We even had Derek the one armed Photographer on the day and what a great job he did of messing up our Safety fence on the quads. We have photo eveidence but be rest assured Derek we will keep them under lock and Key.
A big thanks must go out to Abdul for not going on our Quads as from a prevoius altercation on a Go-Kart we thought we would never see him or the Quads again haha.
A shout again for Laura for being a great hostess and we look forward to the re-match

Fabulous day and the weather was fantastic, glad I remembered the sun cream!
I was quite concerned with Ody's random trek on his quad bike, I normally order him a Sat Nav for his car hire when he's away on business but he said he wouldn't need one for this drive.....
Eddie was rather attached to his kilt that you kindly provided, and was impressed with his built in "lady garden"- where can I order one for his christmas pressie? He is currently constructing a unique wooden spoon holder to take pride of place in the office whilst we try and locate the winners trophy to go along side the others in the office!
Thankyou very much for a great afternoon, can't wait for the re-match!
Thanks to Team challeng for a great day. (weather helped) Also thanks to Team 1 who worked really hard to make the other teams look good. The wooden spoon will soon take pride and place in the office. Asgard It will be fine!!
