Team Building Crystal Challenge with WL Gore

We hope this blog will bring back some great memories of your fantastic day of Team Building. Check out all the photos from the afternoon, and don't forget to leave us a comment at the bottom of the page with some of your highlights and favourite moments!

The magnificent Macdonald Cardrona Hotel played host to a fabulous and fun-filled afternoon of Team Building with an uber-competitive group from WL Gore on a typical Autumn afternoon in the Borders of Scotland.

Team Building Crystal Challenge Peebles October 2011A sense of nervous anticipation gripped our guests as the Leopard Print Lover arrived into the conference suite to introduce the afternoon Team Building session, which would see our team battle it out across a number of different Mental, Physical and Skill based challenges, all in a bid to emerge from the Crystal Challenge Dome at the end of the day as Champions! The teams were quickly chosen and we began the march outside on to the fantastic grounds of Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, the tension building all the time as each team wondered who would be crowned Crystal Challenge Champions...!

Team Building Crystal Challenge Peebles October 2011There were a number of highlights right throughout the afternoon of Team Building, many of them too embarrassing (and some of them too rude...!) to mention within this blog. We have, however, included some of our favourite moments from the day below, and would be delighted if you could add in your 'best bits' into the comments section beneath this Blog. We'll start our Team Building Highlights Reel with our American friends, who had never even heard of the Crystal Maze, and had absolutely no idea what the Crystal Challenge was. To be honest, I think Kip still didn't have a clue what he was doing come the end of the afternoon, but he battled on regardless, and was absolutely sensational on the Basketball Shoot!

Team Building Crystal Challenge Peebles October 2011More fun-filled Team Building entertainment followed, with 'Super-Intelligent' Stephen making us all look stupid as he answered each an every riddle that was thrown at him...the only problem was, it was almost dark by the time he got his answer out! Paul looked right at home in his Fox Costume (we reckon he dresses up regularly!), and there were some fantastic Chicken Legs on show right throughout the afternoon. Our Towers of Hanoii Team Building Challenge proved too much for some, so much so that Mhari is still out on the field trying to solve it! There was, however, one highlight that topped them all...the mighty Crystal Dome! The winds would whirl and our contestants would grab at the golden with all their might, until only one stood victorious.

Team Building Crystal Challenge Peebles October 2011Team 3 had been in trouble all day, and Donna went into the Crystal Dome with just 6 crystals lighting the way, only 15 seconds to do damage to Teams 1 and 2. Mhari represented Team 1, having earned 9 Crystals during the afternoon of Team Building Challenges, and Stephen of Team 2 stepped inside the Crystal Dome with a sensational 10 Crystals at his back, and 30 seconds to make Team 2's dreams come true. However, it was not to be, and Team 2 stepped forward the Wooden Spoon for their last place finish with -120 points! Team 1 that jumped up for a photograph as they just missed out on top spot by a single Golden Token, meaning that nothing could stop the mighty Donna and Team 3, who were soon being crowned the Crystal Challenge Champions!

Team Building Crystal Challenge Peebles October 2011A fun-filled day of the Crystal Challenge had been thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance, and the afternoon of Team Building had undoubtedly been a great success. A big shout-out and thank-you must go to Paul for all his hard work and effort in organising such a fantastic day...it always makes it worthwhile when you when the Trophy Paul! The entire group from WL Gore were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company look forward to seeing you all again soon.
