It was at the stunning Old Meldrum House Hotel that the group from FMC Kongsberg spent their morning conference session, followed by a fast paced and fun filled afternoon of Indoor and Outdoor Team Building. Not even the weather could stop these two teams as Invictus and the Fab Four battled the snow in the quest for the top spot.
Kicking off with Helium Stick Invictus were incredibly confident and yet could not manage to complete the challenge throughout the practise session. Come the head to head challenge they upped their game a little and came close to giving Morag and the team a run for their money but not enough to win as the Fab Four showed a record speed and no cheating to take the early lead.
Heading Outdoors for the Catapult Challenge this was Owen's time to shine as he took charge and lead the Fab Four to build a magnificent contraption that allowed their missile to travel almost to the end of the course! With Shona's theory of building a Treboche and Keith's plan A and plan B both struggling to get off the ground we only managed an impressive flop. The NASA challenge was the one to turn the fortunes of the teams as, despite Siegfried's submariner survival knowledge, it was Invictus who managed to win with an impressive score putting them safely into the excellent category
.
Indoor Boomwhackers was our musical extravaganza challenge that really pushed our team's creativity to the limit. After a small amount of time to tune themselves in we were treated to the performances as the Fab Four regaled us with the festive classic Jingle Bells. The showstopping performance came from Invictus as Shona treated us all to a Highland Dance as Barry conducted the team to victory with their rendition of Flower of Scotland.
The scores were tied at the stage of the Scrambled Egg finale challenge and it went right down to the wire with one small crack the difference between the two teams. Edging into glory thanks to their whole egg was Invictus, taking home the Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy with 4004.5 points while the Fab Four were only just pipped to the post and brought up the rear claiming the Wooden Spoon with 3505 points.
This was a fantastic Team Building afternoon full of laughter, fun and some impressive skill from both teams. It takes a lot of effort to put these days together and a huge shout out should go Morag and Shona for their part in it. It was such a pleasure to work with you all and we look forward to seeing you all again in the future.
