Norwood Hall hotel played host to our highly competitive Interactive Quiz Night on the 30th May 2012, between two teams from Technip UK Ltd, both teams competing to win the highly coveted Team Challenge Company trophy and at the same time attempting to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.
The Interactive Quiz kicked off at 7.30pm with the first round of the
quiz being Higher or Lower. This round saw some great tactics with half of both teams going higher and the other half going lower with no team wanting to lose the first round. However Not So Clever took an early lead leaving Tora with some catching up to do.
A few rounds later saw the first joker being played. This allowed the teams the chance to double any points they got. Not So Clever were the first to blink, playing the joker in the sports round but would have been better off waiting for a future round. Despite this they were able to extend their lead.
One of the funniest rounds on the night was without a doubt Balloon Tower with both teams competing to build the highest possible tower with nothing but the balloons provided. Both teams managed to build impressive towers despite members from both Tora and Not So Clever trying to sabotage the other- this showing the commitment all had to the event and the determination to win at all costs.
The night came to an end with the grand finale with all still to play for. Both teams were attempting to build a bridge capable of supporting a car driving across it. Not So Clever went first and the bridge immediately sagged in the middle and inevitably the car fell straight through. On the other hand Tora had a far more sound looking bridge, however despite being able to hold the weight the team were let down by the poor driving of the self elected driver.
The Interactive Quiz Night concluded with the presentation of the trophy and the wooden spoon. The runners up on the night were Tora with a total score of 6700 and were the lucky winner of our wooden spoon, with the winners Not So Clever taking away the Team Challenge Company trophy with a score of 7800. This lead to a conga being performed as a celebration whilst having to protect the trophy from the other team.![]()
Finally, we would like to say a very big thanks to Technip's brilliant Claire for organising such a great evening and we very much look forward to working with you all again in the near future!
