Five teams of budding detectives from Technip travelled from across the globe to enjoy a fantastic dinner and Evening Entertainment Event in the shape of a dark and sinister Murder Mystery Night at the wonderful Crathes Castle in Banchory.
The five 'Sleuths and Cops' teams assumed their roles for the Murder Mystery Night enquires, picking apart the stories of some fiendishly talented actors and investigating the sequence of events that lead to the terrible
misdoings in "The Lush, The Judge and The Pianist"...all in the course of enjoying a fabulous supper at the wonderfully decorated and beautifully appointed Grand Ballroom. The team names ranged from the highly imaginative Table 5 and Table 3, to Irene The Maid's Table, to Green Team to the very... original How do you Spell ID? - from the off even with the team names there were more problems than solutions!
The teams were presented with the Murder Mystery Night story of " The Lush, The Judge and The Pianist" , one of our authentic "Olde Worlde Experience" of Murder Mysteries. The Evening Entertainment kicked off before starters were served, and the guests were quickly transported into a world of fantasy and a devious murder investigation with an opening act that nobody would forget full of lust, passion, poison, exploding pacemakers, intrigue and of course the mysterious circumstances
surrounding the death itself...and just where was the Butler? And why was the lovely maid Irene eating and enjoying herself and not doing her chores? And why was Frank always trying to bribe for the answers? ...but nothing is as it seems with this Team Challenge Company Murder Mystery Night.
It was then up to the talented teams of table detectives to quiz the actors on everything they could possibly think of - from their whereabouts on the night of the murder to their crazy lustful antics with the other leading characters.... Just where was Bertie that fateful evening, and why has Lady Veronica always carry a cigarette holder, and as for Lord Ernest and his dodgy Father Dougal impression !!!!
As the Evening Entertainment and Murder Mystery Night came to a close and the final accusations were made, it seems some detectives were about as useful as the infamous Inspector Jacques Cousteau from the Pink Panther Movies! The Green Team was given the dubious honor of last place for both their awful guess of everyone as Culprit, Means and Motive. And what a lovely guest comment on your answer sheet - "We only love the event if we win "- and in particularly poor handwriting - it ended up in the bin...must do better next time!
All in all, the smartest team (yes we were stunned too!) - Team 5 performed outstandingly well getting The Accused, The Means and The Motive just about spot on, and it seems that perhaps Crime Scene
Investigator is a realizable career path in the near future. Team 5 were presented with their Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy and the Evening Entertainment was hailed by all as a huge success, and we are quite sure that many of the guests have already begun watching re-runs of Columbo just to be in on the hunt next time and swotting up for their next Murder Mystery Event.
A big thank you to Julia and her wonderful team at Crathes castle - you helped make the evening such a very special evening for us all - we shall return with even more crimes!
