A thick blanket of February snow covered the grounds at Ardoe House Hotel, however, no weather conditions could stop the 25-strong group from Total enjoying a fun-filled afternoon of Corporate Entertainment.

The group were divided into 4 teams which would rotate around 4 Corporate Activities during the afternoon. When it was suggested that the teams think of some team names, the reply came 'yeah, but team names are for losers...!' So Teams 1, 2, 3 and 4 set off on their quest to be the best in each individual Corporate Activity, and aim to lift the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy at the end of the day.

The teams battled it out in the Laser Clay Pigoen Shooting, went apache style with the Axe Throwing, put their wits to the test in the ever-challenging Rollerball, and rallied around the snow covered course in the Quad Biking. Despite the conditions, all teams performed both competantly and safely in every activity, a combination which can only produce top results.

The afternoon of Corporate Entertainment proved to be a tight affair, as the lead changed from team to team throughout the entire event. However, there has to be a winner...and there has to be a loser (which is often the most fun part) and on this occasion the wooden spoon went to Team 1, even though they were only a few hundred points from top spot. Team 4 and Team 3 followed in 3rd and 2nd respectively, but there could only be one winner, and Team 2 stepped up to be presented with the Winners Trophy. Many believe their success was all down to raw ability and strong teamwork, however, we know that it was really 'The Viking' that pulled the win out of the bag!

The entertainment continued later in the evening with an Executive Quiz, where this time team names were chosen (losers!) The Scally Wag Rats, Team CSU and Barrymore's Pool Party once again competed for the coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy, and once again it was a close-fought battle.

The Executive Quiz Night rounds included Guess Who and Guess Where, a Muzic Round that was maybe slightly too up-to-date for those 'experenced' team members - some Perry Como may have been a better choice. The teams competed in many other rounds, but none was more controversial the the OK Magazine Round. Before it began Peter - who seemed to know everything - issued a warning statement to the group...'If any of you get more than 7 in this round you're all fired!'

The Executive Quiz drew to a close and the final points were checked and verified. This time it was the turn of the Scally Wag Rats to collect the wooden spoon, as Team CSU came in a close 2nd plance. But it was Barrymore's Pool Party who ran out eventual winners, collecting the gelaming trophy and proclaiming thier greatness to the rest of the group.
A fantastic afternoon of Corporate Entertainment had been enjoyed by all, and the Evening Entertainment provided the perfect end to a fabulous day. A big thank you must go out to Pat, who organised the event and worked extremely hard to make it such a success. The group from Total were a pleasure to work with, and everybody at Team Challenge Company looks forward to working with them again in the near future.
It was my job at this event to instruct the group on Quads, after laying down a safe course in the snow I defrosted my hands and headed in for the team briefing. The award for most energetic rider goes to Peter and i can think of other awards to grant him however you can only win one a day! Thanks everyone for being safe and responsible and working with the conditions to make sure we all enjoyed the afternoon at Mercure Ardoe House.
Stay Safe Euan B.
if Peter had worked for God it would only have taken 5 days to create the universe...and there would have been tape left over...what a legend in the construction of their rollerball event...it was the eighth wonder of the world !
Would like to thank Stephen and his team for such a good day out and evening. The Quiz was great and looking forward to the next outing on the 5th March. Word has gotton out and everyone wants to come on the 5th and I am running out of places, I have a waiting list in case someone drops out.
Hopefully the sun will shine this time, but despite the snow the last time it didn't stop us from doing all the activities provided by Stephen and his team.
