Team Building Harbinson Mulholland

Around 50 excited Harbinson Mulholland employees enjoyed an entire day of fun-filled and productive Team Building in the beautiful Hilton Templepatrick Hotel.

The day of Team Building was to kick off in the early morning (a little to early for some it seemed), and following the opening brief of the morning, the group was divided into their teams for the day. There was Darren's Book Club, The Holyland Book Club, The Happy Slaapers, The Wee Dafties, Around the Corner and The Mind Blanks - 6 fiercely competitive teams who would do battle on the Team Building Activities in a bid to be crowned champions!

The morning Team Building session began with the ever-challenging and hugely frustrating Helium Stick. What looked easy during the demonstration soon became a whole different monster when the teams finally stepped in to take up the challenge. Following some very dubious cheating methods, a certain Patrick Leonard quickly became known as 'Thumbs' - he just couldn't help himself!

Team Building Harbinson MNext up was one of the all-time favourite Team Building Actvities - the almighty Bridge Build. Could the teams hold their nerve and drive their RC car across the cravasse supported only by the materials supplied...? It seems for many the answer was no!!! The inability of some teams was summed up by Gemma Dowd's comment just as time was about to run out..."Has anyone checked if its lined up properly...?" Too little, too late im afraid Gemma.

The final Team Building session of the day provided some of the biggest laughs, as well as some of the biggest successes. Design an Ad was the name of the game, as teams used props to inspire them in creating their very own product and presenting it to the rest of the group. We had a huge array of ideas, from holidays to the moon right through to speed dating services - oh no wait, it was having a spa in your own house - which is essentially speed dating anyway!!!

As the afternoon of Team Building drew to a close it was time for the all important scores. Some nervous faces looked on as Bobbo released the news they had all been waiting for. The cries of laughter rang around the room as the Happy Slappers came up to collect the wooden spoon for their last place finish, and deservingly so (just joking, you weren't that bad...) They were closely followed by The Mind Blanks, The Wee Dafties and The Holyland Book Club in 5th, 4th and 3rd respectively. It was now down to the business end, and just pipped into 2nd place was Darren's Book Club with 2100 points.

And so, coming up to collect the coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy in complete jubilation was the unstoppable Around the Corner team, with their successful Bridge Build dragging them over the line in first place with 2400 points.

A fantastic day of entertaining and exciting Team Building was enjoyed by all who attended, and though only one team could walk away as winners, we are quite sure everybody left with fabulous memories of their time with Team Challenge Company at Hilton Templepatrick. A big thank you must go to Elaine, who did a fantastic job in organising such a successful event. We all look forward to working with your team again in the future.
