Race Night with Schroders
An excited group of Schroders employees were treated to a fabulous night of Evening Entertainment in the shape of a spectacular Race Night and Quiz Night.
The London-based group arrived in anticipation, and were not to be dissapointed as they stepped into the the fully Race Night Themed Indian restaurant. They formed 7 different teams, each of which were to choose a team name and compete against eachother throughout the Race Night, aiming to accumulate as much fun-money as possible and walk away with the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy.
The team names were inspired by their setting, ranging from the Korma Kings to the Masala Mavericks, the Vindaloo Vikings to the Tandoori Titans. Following a brief introduction the Race Night got underway, and though the betting action was resevred to begin with, the first few races soon saw an end to that!
Spliced in between the Race Night races were a few bonus Quiz Rounds, which included the likes of Guess What and Where, Guess Who and The Movie Quotes Round - which proved to be trickier than some had first imagined. The bonus Quiz Rounds saw teams earning more and more money to gamble (lose it all) on the races, as the Vindaloo Vikings proving unstoppable in the Music Round.
The Ladies Race was, as always, the highlight of the Evening Entertainment, as the 'Horses' and their jockeys struted their stuff around the room to the beat of 'Im too sexy...' The hilarity that ensued is diffiuclt to describe, but let it be said that the memories will undoubtedly remain long lasting.
As the Race Night drew to a close, final bankrolls were counted, with more than a few teams making an overall loss on the evening...no surprises there then! Bringing up the rear and collecting the Wooden Spoon for their efforts were the disasterous Tikka Tigers, with Team Captain Philemon unable to guide his team out of last spot the entire evening...Oh, the shame of it all!
It was a close-run thing at the top of the pile, but in the final race of the night one team strode forth to victory, and it was none other than the mighty Tandoori Titans, led by their Captain-Fantastic, Glen Baker. The Team stepped up to collect the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy and be crowned the Race Night Champs!
The Evening Entertainment was thouroughly enjoyed by all who attended, we had fabulous fun, and the Race Night proved to be a massive success. A big thank-you must go to the Birthday Boy, Will (ahhhh, to be 21 again) who did a tremendous job in organising such a great event. His enthusiasm ensured the Event Management ran as smoothly as possible, and everybody at Team Challenge Company looks forward to working with Schroders again in the near future.
