Team Challenge Company once again had the pleasure of working with Bibby Offshore, with Team Training & Team Development being the central focus on a hot and sunny day at Pittodrie Football Stadium.
The Team Development day was to be divided into two sessions, with separate groups of around 50 guests taking part in each. The Team Development day revolved around creating a passion for the business, realising the talent of employees and encouraging innovation, all whilst achieving results and having fun in the process. The guests of both sessions arrived in eager anticipation of an exciting and motivating day of Team Development, and they were not to be disappointed.
The format of the Team Development event was simple. The group would be divided into teams that would compete head-to-head on a selection of challenging Team Building activities in a bid to score the most points and walk away winners of the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. The Team Building tasks that lay ahead for the teams were Scrambled Egg, The Nasa Challenge and the ever fun, ever hilarious and ever sensational Bridge Build.
The Team Development morning session saw near total disaster at the Scrambled Egg, with only Team 6 scoring points for their attempt at building a construction that would allow their egg to remain intact after launch! It safe to say there was no shortage of broken yolks around the grounds of Pittodrie Stadium at lunch time! The Nasa Challenge also proved difficult for many of the teams, but Team 2 roared into the lead with their solution to the task - if we were to ever find ourselves lost on the Moon, we would want to be lost with you!
The highlight of the morning session of Team Development was undoubtedly the Bridge Build. Donna and Graham from Team 1 showed huge excitement and potential throughout the Team Building task, particularly when it came to putting the straws in the right places...! And then there was Alison, who couldn't wait to put her bra-strap in the right place to help her team win! That really is playing full out! When it came to the test, for some teams it really was Mission:Impossible, with Teams 1, 2 and 6 all ending up in the crevasse. However, joy ripped round the room as Teams 3, 4 and 5 all made it to the other side in style!
The time for trophy presentations had soon arrived, with Chief Executive of Bibby Offshore Howard Woodcock coming along especially to hand out the prizes. His first task was to welcome up Team 1 to collect the Wooden Spoo
n for their lat place finish with an embarrassing 500 points. Teams 2 and 6 fared little better, but it was all tight at the top as the Winners Trophy came within touching distance. There could only be one, and this time it was Team 5 who walked away as champions, scoring a very impressive 1900 points from the Team Building challenges.
The Team Development continued into the afternoon, this time with a whole new group of guests trying their hand at the Team Building activities. This group was slightly smaller than the last and so only 3 teams would compete for the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy this time around. Once again the Scrambled Egg proved a leap too far for many, with only Team 2 picking up any points what-so-ever.
Team 3 came out on top in Nasa Challenge, but once again it all came down to that big finale on the Bridge Build to see which team would be crowned Team Building Kings. The atmosphere was tense and the teams were nervous, but adrenaline kicked in as both Team 1 and Team 2 rocketed their car to success. Unfortunately for Team 3 it was a different story, better luck next time....perhaps! Once again Chief Executive Howard Woodcock joined the teams for the trophy presentations, and once again the sounds of 'Who Let the Dogs Out' blasted around the room as Team 3 stepped forward to collect the Wooden Spoon. The afternoon session of Team Development had all come down to consistency, and there was none more consistent that the incredible Team 2, who lifted their Trophy aloft to the sounds of rapturous applause - what a team!
The Team Development day with Bibby Offshore had proved to be a complete success, with all in attendance thoroughly enjoying the Team Building challenge on show throughout the day. A big thank-you must go to Lara and Ewan for organising such a fantastic day of Team Development, your effort and enthusiasm really shone through during the even , and we at Team Challenge Company certainly look forward to working with you again in the near future.
