Team Building with Ben Thompson Events

The stunning backdrop of Mar Hall Hotel provided the perfect setting for a fantastic Team Challenge Company Team Building afternoon on behalf of Ben Thompson Events.

Around 140 excited guests gathered in eager anticipation for the big kick-off following a morning conference session. The large (and extremely excitable) group had been divided into 18 teams and were ready to rock and roll their way outside and take on a number of Team Building Challenges in a bid to score as many points as possible. The prize - the chance to walk away from the afternoon with the much coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy!

The 18 teams rotated around sets of challenging and unique Team Building Tasks set around the grounds of Mar Hall Hotel. The Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and the ever-difficult yet sensatonal Axe Throwing proved big hits throughout the Team Building afternoon, with some incredibly skilled (and not so skilled...!) competitors showing off their sharp-shooting talents. Our Axe Throw specialist Russell reckons there could be some Olympic champs in no time...except on lady from Team 3, who shall remain namless on this occasion to save her from embarrassment!

Further Team Building Activities included Catapult and Plank Walk, which saw some great team efforts at scoring points, and some even greater individual efforts at cheating!!! Big Brian, or as we like to call him, Big 'Any Chance You Could Stop Cheating' Brian tried to pull off some outlandish tactics on the Plank Walk, though his disgraceful, yet hilarious, cheating attempts went unrewarded as Genya stood firm and dared not to give in to tempation. There were some unbelievable shots recorded over at the Catapult, a notoriously testing Team Building Challenge. However, Team 5 struck gold with their design, launching the golf ball nearly 30 meters...legends!

Final Team Building Tasks of the afternoon were perhaps the most challenging of all - the mighty Rollerball and the fantastic Casket! The Rollerball designs were certainly a mixed bag, with some amazing constructions on show throughout the Team Building afternoon, as well as some not so amazing ones! Team 2 faired better than most, and recorded a stunning 40 seconds - what an effort! Casket Rescue proved to be very similar, with a huge variety of ideas and thoughts on how to complete the Team Building Challenge. Christopher's 'Lassoo Technique' was certainly a good idea, but putting his idea into practice proved more difficult than imagined...that tree didn't stand a chance!

As the Team Building afternoon drew to a close, the time for the all important results had arrived. The atmosphere was tense and the room filled with electricit as each and every guest anxiously awaited the fate of their team. The wait was quickly over for Team 1, who stepped up to a room filled with laughter and collected the Wooden Spoon for their last place finish. Each and every team stepped forward for their photograph as the list became shorter and shorter, until there was only two teams remaining. Scoring an incredible 3000 and walking away winners of the Team Building afternoon, the sensational Team 4!!!

Though only one team could depart from Mar Hall Hotel as champions of the afternoon, we are quite sure that everybody left with fantastic memories of their Team Building afternoon with Team Challenge Company on behalf on Ben Thompson Events. A big thank-you must go to all those who played a part in organising such a successful Team Building Event, the entire group were a real pleasure to work with and we at Team Challenge Company thoroughly looks forward to working with everybody again in the near future.
