We hope this blog will bring back some great memories of your fantastic Team Building Event. Check out all the photos from the afternoon, and don't forget to leave us a comment at the bottom of the page with some of your highlights and favourite moments!
A sunny summer day and the fabulous backdrop of Buxted Park provided the perfect setting for an afternoon of Team Building with a fantastic group from Pfizer.
There was excitement in the air as the group of 10 gathered on the porch for an introduction to the afternoon of Team Building activities. The early hilarity was provided by the mighty Ben, arriving in a pair of shorts and peaked cap that were simply out of this world! Following a brief catwalk show the teams were picked and we were ready to rock. Team 1, made up of Sharon, Ben, Sean, Nicola and Monique prepared to do battle for the coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy with their Team 2 colleagues, who were Karen, Victoria, Ed, Dan and Deepa. Let the Team Building games begin!
Team 1 headed off to their first Team Building challenge, the ever-difficult Plank Walk. Captain Sharon pulled the team together and they soon gathered pace, making their way down the course in rapid fashion. Unfortunately it wasn't quite rapid enough, making it within touching distance of the finish...despite leaving Sharon behind shouting 'Wait for me!' Team 2 were tasked with the Rollerball Team Building challenge to begin with, and after early debate they ricked it all and went for the big points! Their first attempt was an embarrassing 17 seconds, but following some tweaks and changes the Team 2 blasted out a final time of 29.67 seconds...almost respectable!!!
The scores were close coming into the break, with both teams sensing the tough battle for the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy that lay ahead. Big bonus points were up for grabs on the final Team Building activity of the first session - the sensational Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting. Team 1 looked like seasoned professionals, whereas Team 2 looked like...well, I don't even know what they looked like, all I know is it wasn't pretty! Karen needed some (actually, a lot) of expert tuition from Gerry before she could even point the gun in the right direction, but soon it was all hands on deck and the competition was hotting up! Monique battled through her shakey start to step up and hit a clay from nowhere, which saw the crowd erupt with joy.Team 1 continued to outclass Team 2 with incredible accuracy, and walked into the Tea Break with a victory under their belts.
A steady hand and pin-point accuracy was once again required when the teams walked back out and into their next Team Building challenge - Archery! Team 1 racked up a fairly average score of 26, and so up stepped Team 2 with the knowledge they were trailing in the overall Team Building competition and needed to pull something special out of the bag...and special it was! Victoria managed to keep her finger out of her eye for long enough to lead the team to victory. Perhaps the biggest shock of the Team Building afternoon, and most certainly one of the highlights was when a semi-conscious Karen popped a balloon with what seemed like ease...I say it was a fluke!
And so, with two wins each, it had all come down to the final Team Building activity of the day, and you can be sure that there was still a lot of hilarity ahead in the tie-breaker game on the Human Table Football. The whistle went and the Big Finale kicked off...it was a slow starter until the game descended into chaos with Sharon, Monique and Sean battling it out in the centre circle. Team 2 strode to an early lead, but by half-time things were all level once again. Big Ed gave it everything to pull Team 2 into the lead, but a quick reply from Team 1 saw the Team Building Finale come down to Golden Goal. It was tense and nervous, but Deepa kept her cool to slot home a fine finish that saw Team 2 walk away as champions.
A fabulous afternoon of Team Building challenges was enjoyed by all in attendance, and though only one team could leave with the trophy we are quite sure that the whole group from Pfizer left with great memories of their Team Building day at Buxted Park. A big thank-you must go to Victoria for her part in organising such a fun-filled and successful Team Building Event, the Pfizer bunch were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company certainly look forward to working with you all again soon.
