It was Friday the 28th of August, venue Lomond Centre Glenrothes, event Raytheon Crystal Challenge. It was an early start with the 180 strong arriving for a full day of Team Building Fun starting with the Crystal Challenge.
The easy task of dividing up the teams for this Team Building Event was taken care of by the Raytheon Social Committee and a total of 21 teams took part. After a warm welcome from an on time Jim the teams headed outside for the first challenge of the day Helium Stick. Grey Square and Green Stars were two of the 6 teams to win an early crystal.
The next stage of the Crystal Challenge Team Building Event saw all 7 star teams battled it out in the Skill Zone taking part in Rollerball and Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting. All 7 square teams entered the Physcial Zone taking part in Crystal Walk, Tug O' War and the Assault Course. Finally all 7 Circle teams were in the Mental zone taking part in a Fun Casino Challenge and Puzzle Corner.
After two zones the teams were very close with Blue Star and Pink Squares gathering impressive amounts of crystals. It was a struggle for Grey Square at this stage with only 3 crystals in the bag. Their team spirit was high however the ponchos were their excuse for poor performance...haha
One final push before lunch
and with a little rain starting to fall the teams taking part in this great Team Building event dug deep and kept the pressure on with Brendan as team captain for Pink pushed them to victory in the Crystal Walk which was a huge effort seeing as he had 9 people in the team.
At 1pm all the teams went inside for a well deserved buffet lunch and there was a lot of talk about who was or wasn't in the lead. At 1.30pm all the teams crystals were counted and there was only 3 crystals between the top 12 teams. The finalist that would enter the Crystal Dome were-
First in was the Blue Star team and with the music playing and the seconds counting down the pressure must have got to them because they only scored -£5. Next to take the stage was the Lilac Team another huge effort that resulted in an even worse score of -£15 which left the door wide open for Green Stars. They took the opportunity and with the crowd cheering them on they managed a huge score of +£5 which made them the Crystal Challenge Winners 2009.
The entire day had been a massive success, with all in attendance thoroughly enjoying the Team Building entertainment. A big thank you must go to the Raytheon Social Committee for their part in organising such a fantastically memorable day, the entire group of challengers were a real pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company certainly hope to see you all again very soon.
