Total Attitude was the theme for this Team Training event and with four key behaviours the focal point, we were ensuring they were on the forefront of everyones minds throughout the day.
The Team Building event was an early kick off and the bus rolled in at 9.30am, after a light refreshment the group was broken up into 6 teams, these were Jedi, Yoda, Skywalkers, Vulcans, Klingons and the Daleks, have you guessed the theme yet!
The overall objective was to collect building parts that would help them collectively build and fly three rockets, as easy as this task might sound the teams were in competition with each other whilst working toward a common goal. It was this element that would test the teams synergies with Cross Functionality at the top of the list.
After the first two Team Building activities it was the Daleks and the Klingons that took the early lead. Before lunch the teams had three
Team Building challenges to take part in and with limited rocket pieces awarded three teams headed inside for Bridge Build with over half of the equipment available.
The Bridge Build Team Building activity was only completed by two teams and both had played their Joker Cards which gave them double points. The two teams were Yoda and Vulcans, both with fantastic Bridges, deserved the points and the huge applause that went with it.
Lunch came and went and with no teams working together to gain extra rocket parts we decided to politley point them in the right direction and encourage some cross team sharing. This caused a surge in activity between the groups and at last some negotiations began.
It was time to go back outside and take part in three more Team Building activities and with more rocket parts up for grabs, focus was at a high level. The Treasure Hunt Team Building activity was causing some debate not because the clues were hard to find, it was more to do with finding the answers.
As the bell tolled the teams returned back inside to take part in the final challenge and produce three rockets (hopefully).
Nasa Challenge was the final Team Building activity and with Daleks scoring an unseen 16 they left the competition behind them, it was Yoda who took a confidence knock after coming last in this event.
Some bad news followed when it came to rocket flying time, only two rockets were completed and only one had a successful launch, we will leave it to you to decide if this was something to shout about or something to cry about...
Special Prizes went to Steve, Doreen and Stuart for their outstanding contribution to their teams.
The Team Development Training day with Total had proved to be a complete success, with all in attendance thoroughly enjoying the Team Building challenge on show throughout the day. A big thank-you must go to Rowena for organising such a fantastic day of Team Building, your effort and enthusiasm really shone through during the event , and we at Team Challenge Company certainly look forward to working with you again in the near future.
