We arrived at the Mercure hotel at 11am for our team building event with Surrey Children, Schools & Families and the 180 strong were in full swing, by the sounds coming from their conference room they were enjoying it so far.
Lunch time was 12 noon and with a frantic pace and help from the excellent CREW we cleared the entire room in preparation for their team building event starting at 1.15pm sharp.
The bell tolled and we gathered the large group together and broke them up into 17 teams with the CREW making it 18. After an introduction on participation from Stephen the first of three team building task began with helium stick. It had early signs of disaster written all over it for most teams however after 6 minutes of practice it started to come together for the teams and the competition was on. After a very fast 8 minutes this great ice breaker team building activity began.
The groups now split up and took part in two very different challenging Team Building activities Giraffe Build which is a task that highlights planning, organisistion and a vision of what you wish the final outcome to be. The other task NASA Challenge is an excellent demonstration of communication and working as one to agree a complex strategy for success.
2.45pm saw the end of the event and the announcement of who the winners and the losers! It was a fast and furious event with huge energy and full participation from everyone.
A fantastic afternoon of Team Building was enjoyed by the entire team from Surrey Children, Schools & Families, who were tremendous fun right throughout the whole event. Though there could only be one winning team, we are quite sure that everybody walked away with fabulous memories of their Team Building Event with Team Challenge Company, and a big thanks goes to Liz and all the CREW for organising the event for everyone.
The afternoon of teambuilding activities quickly focused on competing together as a team whilst getting to know each other along the way - with of course a lot of fun thrown in for good measure
The hilarious action at the Helium Stick was fast paced and energetic, with all teams pushing hard to walk away winners and lift the much coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. The NASA Challenge saw some teams really reach for the stars and others just get lost in space.
Combined with the Giraffe building the day was a close run thing, with the awesome Team 17 taking the Top Spot.
Well done to all the teams who stepped up to the challeges and played full out, and hope to see you all again next year.
Stephen
A big thank you to Gerry and his team for a fun-filled afternoon. We've had lots of great feedback about Team Challenge and how the exercises really make you think about teamwork although they are such a laugh too. Brilliant!
Liz
You certainly added to the day. Lots for learning from the team activites for our business support community and such fun! The feedback has been great. Thank you.
