We hope this blog will bring back some great memories of your fantastic Award ceremony and Executive Quiz Night. Check out all the photos from the evening, and don't forget to leave us a comment at the bottom of the page with some of your highlights and favourite moments!
Around 30 specially invited guests from Dril-Quip arrived at the smart Marriott Hotel, Aberdeen in eager anticipation of a fun-filled and competitive Quiz Night, with Team Challenge Company.
As the pre dinner drinks came to a finish, first up came the Dril-Quip Long Service Awards Ceremony for those who have been with the company over 15, 20 and even over 25 years - mementoes of their long service were presented by Jim and senior team, and photographs to commemorate the evening.
Then as the room settled back down after the awards the tensions began to build to an all-time high - the Quiz Night was about to commence. The group competed across 5 separate tables, during a sumptuous dinner in their own private function suite, with each team battling it out for as many points as possible in a bid to walk away winners of the much-coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. The tables quickly chose teams names, and so it was the Zolo Winners. The Sopranos, Table 5, Abondoned and The Campers who prepared to do battle for the top prize...Let the games begin...!
The Quiz Night kicked-off with the ever-challenging Higher or Lower Card Game round, then into Guess Who and General Knowledge rounds, which saw Table 5 storm into an early lead, closely followed by The Sopranos! The teams had soon settled into their stride ...well all apart for the poor Campers - it was a struggle from the off for this team !
The hilarious Quiz Night action continued into Sports Round, where some teams faired slightly better than others! Poor Campers with another tough round, but they were the loudest when they got one right !. The pressure was huge as places and reputations were won and lost on this highly competitive round!
The hugely difficult though immensely entertaining Cars of the Stars round of the Quiz Night saw some of the craziest answers we have ever seen , but with Jim on the Abandoned table - he owns most of those cars ! this team came storming through on each and every question.
With Meredith spurring her team on towards victory ( not to mention offering bribes ! ), the nerves flowed through the room as the teams found out who would be battling it out for the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy, and who would be hiding to avoid the embarrassment of taking home the Wooden Spoon.
The final round was the Music Round that would determine the final result of the Quiz Night with all teams straining to be on the money with every track that came up. The Campers continued their abysmal run of form and finished well behind the Zolo Winners team, picking up the Wooden Spoon for their noisy efforts on 5600 points. Only one team could come out on top. Quality shone through, and Team Abandoned on a massive 6800 points put in a sensational effort throughout to claim a memorable victory and walk away with the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy.
The Executive Quiz Night had once again been a huge success for Dril- Quip with all in attendance thoroughly enjoying a fantastic evening of entertainment. A big shout out and thank-you must go to Lara for all the effort and hard-work that went in to making the Quiz Night such a memorable one, Dril-Quip were once again a real pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company hope to see you all and entertain you all again in the near future.
Fantastic evening entertainment with the team from Dril- Quip at The Marriott Hotel Aberdeen with the teams quickly getting into the competitions of the night and going for gold as the games got harder and points mounted up.
Abondoned put in a tremendous performance throughout the entire evening to take the Team Challenge Trophy with not a bad round in sight, closely followed by Table 5 and Sopranos and Zolo Winners... who had a few upsets, but it was the Campers who proudly walked off with the Wooden Spoon !
Meredith has gone from Zero to Hero in just 12 months...Result !
A big shout out to to Lara for organising this great annual staff awards ceremony and quiz evening event and we hope to see you all again soon
