BP Team Building Workshop

We hope this blog will bring back some great memories of your fantastic Team Development Day Check out all the photos from the event, and don't forget to leave us a comment at the bottom of the page with some of your highlights and favourite moments!

Team Challenge Company once again had the pleasure of working with BP, with  Team Development being the central focus on a beautiful sunny day at Pittodrie Football Stadium.

Team TrainingThe Team Development day kicked off with an introduction to the day,  around 40 guests of BP taking part .  The Team Development day revolved around creating  and encouraging innovation and playing full out as the tasks were introduced, all whilst achieving quality results and having fun in the process. The guests  arrived in eager anticipation of an exciting and motivating day of Team Development, and they were not to be disappointed.

The format of the Team Development event was straightforward, the group would be divided into 4 teams that would compete head-to-head on a selection of challenging Team Building activities in a bid to score the most points and walk away winners of the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. The Team Building tasks that lay ahead for the teams were Helium Stick, Blind Intent, Rollerball, Scrambled Egg, The Nasa Challenge and the ever fun, ever hilarious and ever sensational Bridge Build.

Starting with Helium Stick it was clear  who the risk takers were and which team played it safe and steady. The Team Development  event saw near total disasters at the Scrambled Egg, with only Team Better at Bowling scoring points for their attempt at building a construction that would allow their egg to remain intact after launch! It's safe to say there was no shortage of broken yolks around the grounds of Pittodrie Stadium at lunch time!

The Nasa Challenge also proved difficult for many of the teams, but Team Homosapiens roared into the lead with their ingenious solutions to the task - if we were to ever find ourselves lost on the Moon, we would want to be lost with you... but...Nick is still arguing with the results !

There was a mixed bag of Rollerball attempts with 1 team who we will notTeam Training name scoring a massive 0 sorry Team Homosapiens we had to name and shame you,  but coming in with top marks for this activity it was the almighty Ken Dodd’s Dad Dogs Dead with an impressive 42 seconds! Blind Intent proved to be tricky for a few teams and when it came to the turn of Team Better at Bowling we had to crack open another blindfold for Josy who was always trying to sneaky peaky!! It was a huge success with all teams achieving full marks and at last the Homosapiens proved themselves again to be leaders.

Nasa ChallengeThe finale and certainly the highlight of the  Team Development day was undoubtedly the Bridge Build. Team The Beaches  showed huge excitement and potential throughout the Team Building task, particularly when it came to putting the straws in the right places...! With 2000 points at stake  the teams really  played full out! The atmosphere was tense and the teams were nervous, but adrenaline kicked and huge efforts to get their car to success but when it came to the test, for one team it really was Mission:Impossible, with Teams HomosapiensBetter at Bowling and The Beaches  all ending up crossing the crevasse,  joy ripped round the room as the first three Teams  all made it to the other side in style but alas Team Ken Dodd’s Dad Dogs Dead  ended in the ditch - shame as we all joined the teams once again the sounds of 'Who Let the Dogs Out' .

The time for trophy presentations had soon arrived. Our first job was to welcome up Team The Beaches  to collect the Wooden Spoon and entertaining the audience with the sounds of 'Who Let the Dogs Out' blasted around  Pittodrie Stadium  for their last place - must try harder !.

Teams Homosapiens,   and Ken Dodd’s Dad Dogs Dead fared a little better, but it was all tight at the top as the Winner's Trophy came within touching distance. There could only be one, and this time it was Team Better at Bowling who collected the coveted Team Challenge Winners trophy to great applause. - what a team!

Team TrainingThe  Team Development  day had proved a massive success, with the  Team Building   activities thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended from BP. The entire team from BP were tremendous fun to work with. A shout out to Bob, Susan and Kim for organising the day we know everyone appreciated your efforts, and we certainly look forward to seeing everyone again at your next event.

Final Scores on the Doors

1st Better at Bowling 7900 points

2nd Homosapiens 6700 points

3rd Ken Dodd’s Dad Dogs Dead   5600 points

4th The Beaches 5500 points

It's always great working with the BP Team on their teambuilding away days and from the noise throughout the day you all enjoyed it as well, maybe enjoyed it a little to much during the Bridge Build Finale !. A big shout out and thank you to Bob, Susan and Kim for organising the event and their excellent organisation that made the event run so smoothly.

Hope you enjoy working together even more closely in 2010 and hope to see you all again soon.

    Stephen
