With stories of the It's A Knockout mayhem that had taken place the day previous circulating amongst the Diageo group, the Day Two crowd were raring to go from the off! It's A Knockout Round Two was quickly underway.
Once again Gail impressed throughout the It's A Knockout Warm-Up, but so did Big Bad Don, who proved to be rather nimble on all fours...! But it seems nobody enjoyed the crazy moves as much as Jackie (Don't worry, there is plenty more silly stories to come about you throughout this blog!) Once again the Yellow, Orange, Pink and Green Team prepared to do battle for the Team Challenge Company It's A Knockout Winners Trophy, but this time fresh faces and fresh legs (thankfully Jim and his shorts weren't on show throughout Day Two) were geared up to compete! Another afternoon of It's A Knockout hilarity lay ahead...!
Experience from those remaining of the Day One It's A Knockout crowd shone through in the Caterpillar and Chariot Races, and the performance on the Obstacle Skis was much improved (except by the Yellow Team, who this time were utterly dreadful, I blame Don!) And then there was the It's A Knockout Bullseye Sack Race, where Stephen felt he was at an instant disadvantage due to twins he was carrying on his chest...! Check out his amazing Crab Technique in the video below, very graceful fall by the way big man! Once again big points were racked up on the Sumo Suits and It's A Knockout Golf, and with only a couple of races remaining all teams were neck-and-neck...it was all just too close to call!
The frantic and fast-paced It's A Knockout action continued in the Space Hopper Dash, where more than a few people experienced the chaos of the Speed-Wobble! It was soon time for that big finale on the Sponge Fling, and there was one lady more worried than most about her hair getting wet...who else but Jackie would ask for a seperate pink t-shirt to wrap around her head...? Just as on Day One, the Sponge Fling Spectacular was wild, it was as if we had all been invited to the biggest ever wet t-shirt contest...amazing!
The It's A Knockout scores were checked an verified, and this time there was nothing that could be done to save Gail from that Wooden Spoon! It seems that Yellow was the unluky colour of the week, as the team stepped forward to pick up their prize! The Green Team had managed to just scrape into third spot, and unfortunately for Pauline she just couldn't make it to Top of the Pops two days in a row! And so, to the sounds of rapturous applause, the Orange Team bounded forward in triumph to raise aloft the mighty Team Challenge Company It's A Knockout Winners Trophy.
Just as the day previous had been, Day Two of the Diageo It's A Knockout events had been a great success, and fantastic fun had been enjoyed by all in attendance. Again, Gail deserves a big thank-you and round of applause for her effort and dedication in organising such a tremendous afternoon of entertainment. It was a great pleasure to work with everybody from Diageo over both days, and everybody at Team Challenge Company thoroughly look forward to working with you all again in the future.
Crazy, Wild, Chaotic - and that was just Jackie!
Day Two proved to be just as fun-filled and frantic as Day One, and though the second 'rabble' from Diageo may have had a hint of what lay in store, it was certainly just as exciting! The entertainment seemed never ending, and I just can't stop watching Stephen falling out of the sack...what a legend! Pauline, you just missed out on that second trophy, but still, it's nice to let others win every now and again!
Two really fabulous days of It's A Knockout entertainment, all of which were a real credit to Gail and the Diageo Group as a whole. It was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to meet and work with you all, I only hope a re-match lies just around the corner!
I look forward to seeing you all again soon
