Team Development Training with Wood Group
This week saw a newly formed Wood Group project team undertake four days of Team Building Events at various venues across Aberdeen. The events ranged from intensive Team Development Training right through to some fun-filled Corporate Entertainment style games and activities.
Day 1 began with the Team Development Training games of Helium Stick and Blind Man's Buff. What seemed very easy to begin with soon turned to chaos (especially for 'Big Crouchy' and his team) as the deceptively difficult Helium Stick stumped nearly all our competitors. Blind Man's Buff really brought the entire group together, a fantastic strategy was devised with the contirbution of all the teams, and a task challenge which at first seemed unachievable soon became very do-able, expecially with Dave blindly taking the helm! The Team Development Training had got underway with great success.
The Team Development Training continued with Day 2 and the ever-challenging, ever-baffling, but ever-enjoyable Casket. The Day 2 teams kicked off the second session of Team Development Training by working diligently on risk assessments and method statements in a bid to boost the success rate whenever the challenge got underway. Once again, some excellent team-work and the employment of in-depth analysis and problem-solving techniques led to tremendous success aross the board. Some teams were, however, just a little it more successful than others, and Day 2 of the Team Development Training saw Team Team 4 taking home the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy.
Day 3 of the Team Development Training event took a step away from the intensive Team Development Training of the previous days, allowing the newly formed project team kick back and enjoy themselves with some fabulous Corporate Entertainment. There was a fantastic array of exciting and fun Corporate Entertainment activities, ranging from Archery and Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting to Axe Throwing and Quad Bikes. There were triumphant cheers and laughter to be heard all over the grounds throughout the day, and one might suspect there were one or two sore heads the morning after a fabulous afternoon of Entertainment. The scores were incredibly close throughout, but Team Betty Swollock came through strong on the final stretch and managed to just get their noses over the line for a famous Corporate Entertainment victory!
The Team Development Training came to a fantastic close on Day 4 with a fairly challenging (for some) Team Treasure Hunt and a hard fougt battle on the mighty Rollerball. It seems that everybody was more than happy to steal the fantastic design of Team 3, and after what seemed like an age, John declared Team 2's amazing construction to be a worthy winner of the final Team Development Training Trophy...legends! The less said about Team 1's embarrassing effort, the better!
The 4-day Team Development Training event had been a really great success, all in attendance had thoroughly enjoyed themselves across the entire week, and a big thank you must go to Pat for organising such a fantastic event.
