Team Building with RCUK

We hope this blog will bring back some great memories of your fantastic Team Building event. Check out all the photos from the afternoon, and don't forget to leave us a comment at the bottom of the page with some of your highlights and favourite moments!

The Lydiard Conference Centre in Swindon played host to two groups from RCUK, who enjoyed seperate days of fun and exciting Team Building in the shape of our unique and ever-popular Business Game Event, Trade to Win.

The format over both days of Team Building was fairly simple - teams compete in a number of head-to-head Team Building challenges in a bid to earn as much fun-money money. The teams would then put their business acumen to the test as they used their money wisely (or unwisely in many cases!)  so as to design, build and launch a team rocket! It was obvious from the outset that the Team Building Events were going to be a real laugh, and it would seem that both days did not disappoint!

Day One of the Team Building Event kicked off in some style, with teams competing across the Stepping Stones, Catapult and Blind Intent Challenges, as well as doing battle on the Indoor Laser Shoot, and trying to earn just a little bit extra from that dreaded Roulette Wheel. Highlights of Day 1 were many, some of which are too rude to mention in this blog! Our highlights include the incredible 6700 points scored on the Laser Shot by the man we now call 'Terminator'. Also, Team 5 were a highlight right throughout the whole day, mostly because they were so bad we thought they would never get anything built! Day 1 of the Team Building Event closed with a rocket success rate of 5 out of 8 flights, and Team 7 walking home with the coveted Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy!

The second day of Team Building continued in similar vein to the first, with some of the most competitive teams we have ever met doing battle for the Trade to Win Championships. Some of our highlights from the Day 2 include Eddie, the most difficult customer known to man! Stuart and his awful attempt at stealing equipment from the shop, just terrible behaviour! And of course, who could forget the A-Team, or even that beautiful jingle performed by Team 2, just magical! Day 2 of the Team Building closed very impressively, with an incredible 7 out of 8 successful flights...trust Team 3 to let us down! There could, however, be only one winner (and despite Stuart and Mark learning all the inside tips from Day 1, it wasn't them!) This time the top Team Building Prize went to the sensational Team 2, who I feel were completely deserving winners!

Both days of Trade to Win Team Building had been a complete success, and thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. The objective of the Team Building Days had been to break down barriers within the team and help create some friendships along the way, something which we hope has been achieved and taken back into the work place. A big thanks you must go to Stuart for his hard work and committment in organising such a fun-filled an succsessful Team Building Event, The groups from RCUK were, once again, a complete pleasure to work with, and we at Team Challenge Company certainly look forward to seeing everyone again in the near future.

I'd just like to pass on my thanks to Bob and his team for a couple of
outstanding days! Very imaginative and a great experience, the aim of
the days was definitely achieved (even though I didn't win but
possibly cheated most!). A lot of enjoyment was had and a lot of
barriers within the team have now come down, hopefully the team will
continue this experience back in the workplace, think friendships were
made over the couple of days and this is all good and what we really
    hoped to achieve.

Thanks again, a really great experience.
