Keavil House Hotel was the venue for the New Year Race Night Extravaganza as the group of 80 guests were treated to an Evening  of Entertainment in aid of the wonderful Best Western Beacon Trust, playing for money, hotel vouchers as well as the Team Challenge Company Winner's Trophy. To kick start the evening there was an auction of a two night stay at the hotel up for grabs to the highest bidder which ended up going for a remarkable £180 which certainly made a fantastic start to the total.

Over the course of five races there was lots of money won as the horses and dogs raced their way to victory and had the charity funds flowing. It was during the Ladies Day Auction Race that we had a parade of the lovely ladies in their Ascot hats and their chosen gentleman steeds that had the bids flying in thick and fast for the big prize. It was Yvonne who was the lucky lady thanks to her purchase of horse number 5 and took home a whopping £80 and two night dinner, bed and breakfast stay too! She then generously donated most of her prize back into the charity fund.

There were a few bonus quiz rounds throughout the evening that had the audience scratching their heads as they were tasked with recognising famous faces, movie quotes and music clips. Although it was tough the Lying Toads emerged the deserving winners with an amazing 1900 points and taking home the trophy while the Golden Oldies brought up the rear with the Wooden Spoon and 200 points.

It was an absolutely fantastic Charity Race Night full of fun and laughter which managed to raise a total of £429 for the Best Western Beacon Trust. Well done to everyone for their true generosity and we hope to see you all at an event very soon.
