Soar Mill Cove
Owned and loved by the Makepeace family, who care deeply about their special homes in the country by the sea. Here you will find a special kind of caring service, where a courteous staff will ensure you are treated as our most treasured guests. There has been a hotel in the cove since 1925. Sea View Guest House was the original name, with just eleven rooms.
The building that was to become the guesthouse at one time housed a Cinema in Devonport, part of the Plymouth Naval base. It was transported to the Aerodrome near to Rew during World War II, where it became an unofficial officers mess. The building was then purchased from the navy and transported to the current location of Soar Mill Cove.
In an area of "Outstanding Natural Beauty" in South Devon, Soar Mill Cove Hotel benefits from much use of natural slate & local stone. Entirely upon one level, so as not to obstruct the natural beauty of the area, our guests benefit from all rooms opening directly onto the gardens.
The "Soar Mill Cove Bedroom" is designed for maximum comfort and luxury. All rooms have patio doors leading onto their own private terraces and the gardens.
The "Superior" Bedrooms all have something special, maybe, the view, a private garden, the flowers or even the size of the bath!
Single guests are always accommodated in luxurious double or twin rooms. Families can chose from rooms specially designed for their parties needs with favourable terms to suites of rooms offering complete privacy for Mum & Dad.
