The Royal Cambridge Hotel is a terrace of Georgian town houses which make up one of the oldest hotels in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.
Once part of the world famous Addenbrooke's Hospital, the hotel is located on the edge of the city centre, an easy walk from such famous college names as King's, Queen's, Corpus Christi and Magdalene, which make Cambridge one of England's premier destinations.
Tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with its heritage, the hotel now has 57 fully equipped en-suite bedrooms, suites and two exclusive self-contained, serviced apartments.
The historic city of Cambridge was originally a busy town that prospered on trade and commerce along the river Granta.
The name of the city has changed over the years. Many thought that the river was called the Cam and that the town was named after the bridge over this river hence the name "Cambridge". In fact, the river was originally called the Granta but was actually renamed the "River Cam" because of this common mistake.
