Mar Hall Hotel
Mar Hall is a historic retreat standing in a 240-acre estate in the picturesque countryside surrounding Glasgow. The hotel, originally built in 1840, was named after the 11th Earl Of Mar who inspired first Jacobite Rising to restore the Kingdom of Scotland. Standing today as a fine example of Gothic architecture, Mar Hall has recently undergone a £15 million restoration that promises to place it among Scotland's leading luxury hotels. The hotel overlooks the Kilpatrick Hills beyond which lies Loch Lomond. Mar Hall is also just five miles from Glasgow.
The 53 princely rooms at Mar Hall are now magnificent suites resplendent in every luxury. The suites overlook the formal gardens, the championship golf course (due to open in Spring 2006) or the Kilpatrick Hills. Mar Hall boasts the UK's first Aveda Spa Concept offering a range of treatments and facilities, while dining options include gourmet dining in The Cristal and Organic Spa Café, or lighter food served in the Grand Hall.
