Did you know...?
Europe's only remaining private army, the Atholl Highlanders, is based at Blair Castle. Queen Victoria so enjoyed her visits to the castle and the support of the Highlanders, that she granted them the right to bare arms and her colours. So the Atholl Highlanders became a private army!
