Norton House Hotel was once more the setting for the Optos Children’s Christmas Party 2017. Our team had the pleasure of welcoming all the guests into their fun filled Christmas extravaganza.

There was a heap of fun activities on offer for the children from Christmas arts & crafts to Mrs Clauses story telling. One of the most popular activities was our Formula 1 Race Car Simulator, which saw Bruce doing his best to become the next Lewis Hamilton! The wannabe cowboys amongst the children loved the Wild West Shootout, practising their quick draw skills to see who could shoot the quickest! For the littlest among the children, the soft play area was a big hit, seeing the children climbing in and out of the ball pool and doing some super jumps into the ball pit!

Mrs Claus was on hand to tell some brilliantly festive stories as the children all gathered in the floor all cosy on their bean bags to listen contently to the Mrs. Clauses fairytales. Silvano the magician grasped all the children's attention with his magic tricks. But it wasn’t only the children stunned by his tricks, the adults were also amazed at his magic!

We had some very fun Elfie Selfies going on in our photo booth with an array of Christmas props from Santa hats to fairy wings and even some cool shades! Our Robotic Anki Cars were a big hit as the children whizzed the cars around the track, trying not to collide with one another, hoping for that first place position!

As the it was announced that the children would have a special visitor, they frantically gathered on the dance floor bursting with exciement for Santa to arrive. They sang a beautiful rendition of Jingle Bells in the hope that Santa would hear them and come and join them at their party. The excitement and delight in all the Childrens faces when he arrived was fantastic to see. Santa's Elves were kept very busy handing out all the gifts, it seems as though all the children had been extra good this year and were all on the nice list!

After we said goodbye to Santa and he flew in his sleigh back to the North Pole, we cranked up the music and cracked on with our party games! Cha Cha slide is always a favourite with the little ones, with some adults also joining in and showing the kids how it’s done! We then carried on with some more traditional party games, such as pass the parcel; we didn’t think the children would ever get to the presents on this one, it would appear Santa’s elves got a little carried away with the wrapping paper! Have the children had recovered it was back up on their feet for a classic game of musical statues. We had some very professional statues at the party; some of the children had clearly been practicing as we had 6 finalists by the end of the competition.

As the party drew to a close, not only did the children leave with a present from Santa, but also some festive creations! Lot’s of the children had taken full advantage if the elves festive talents at the face painting station, as they left with some beautifully sparkling designs. There was also an array of festive Christmas decorations on display, which the children proudly took home to place on their own Christmas Trees, along with their unicorns and swords made me our balloon modelling elf!

Thank you to Kelly and the rest of her team for working so hard to make the party possible and ensuring that it was an action-packed day full of fun and entertainment! It was an absolute pleasure for our team of elves to entertain the team from Optos once again. From our team to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018.
