Team Challenge Company had the very great pleasure of working with the ever-fantastic Fairmont St Andrews in hosting and entertaining their corporate guests on a beautiful summer day in St Andrews. The afternoon entertainment was to provide a glimpse of all the wonderful corporate event options available and on offer at Fairmont St Andrews with Team Challenge Company, ranging from indoor and evening entertainment right through to corporate activity days and team building events. Our guests were welcomed to the Robert Louis Stevenson Suite for a quick brief before heading outside into the glorious sunshine for a taster of our Country Pursuits activity package – always a fun-filled and competitive team building event that provides a great half or full day of entertainment for our teams. Our Fairmont St Andrews experience included 3 of our most challenging Country Pursuit activities – Axe Throwing, Archery and a Mini Highland Games finale! Our group was quickly split into two teams, which saw Team Mumford and Team One Direction battle it out head to head in a bid to take home our much coveted Team Challenge Company Winner’s Trophy.

Axe Throwing proved to be a blast, with Zahra showing off some incredible axe wielding skills and striking the centre of the target time after time. Less could be said for Alex from Team One Direction, and I think the teams just cheered him when he had finished as we had all managed to survive the experience unscathed! Next up was the Archery, where Ben and Stewart of Team One Direction really stepped up to the plate and demonstrated just how good they were! Hayley of Team Mumford was all over the place at first, but quickly reigned in her aiming to fire straight into the gold – what a legend! With our first two Country Pursuits challenges done and dusted, the scores were all event as we headed to our Mini Highland Games Finale…

With Jimmy Wigs adorned we were ready to rock and roll, as Jay and Cath went head-to-head in the Welly Throw challenge – and what a throw both of them had! Huge distance and great accuracy from both, which again only brought the scores closer together. Team Mumford’s Linda was also legendary on the Toss the Caber, and showed no fear as she chose the big log and went for glory. Team One Direction looked nervous, but true skill shone through as the boys pulled of a last minute miracle in the Toss the Caber to go on to secure victory, and step forward to claim their Team Challenge Company Winner’s Trophy to rapturous applause! We had enjoyed a brilliant afternoon with Fairmont St Andrews and all guests in attendance, who fully got into the competitive spirit of the day. It was a great pleasure to work with you all, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon for the re-match! And for anybody planning their next team building event or looking for something a little special for their corporate activity day, the magnificent Fairmont St Andrews really does provide one of the best options in Scotland.

What a fun filled and competitive afternoon this was, and an absolute pleasure as always to work at the magnificent Fairmont St Andrews in entertaining there valued guests on the day. My personal highlights include Hayley at the Axe Throwing (just thankfully we all survived!) and Alex at the Mini Highland Games - he certainly rocked that Jimmy Wig! A great day with you all, very much look forward to the next time! Jonathan
