The Macdonald Highland Resort in Aviemore provided a picturesque setting for the team from Diageo. Country Pursuits was the order of the day, with Archery, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, Axe Throwing and Inflatable Chip Shot Golf on offer. The group were split in to 8 teams - all named after a respective brand of whiskey. Team Cardhu got off to a flyer when they defeated Team Clynelish on the Country Pursuits activity Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, raking in a massive 2000 points with use of their joker card. Cragganmore racked up maximum points on the Inflatable Chip Shot Golf while Glenkinchie struggled to make an impact on the Axe Throwing.

Glen Elgin and Caol Ila shot their way into contention on the 2nd and 3rd Country Pursuits rotations with 2000 points a piece on the Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting. Knockando looked fierce on the axe throwing, but lacked accuracy to only muster 800 points. Archery was hotly contested all day with every team giving their all and shooting bulls eyes regularly! Dalwhinnie proved to be hot property on the Inflatable Chip Shot Golf, while Caol Ila again raked in maximum points on the Axe Throwing in the last rotation.

With the scores then checked and verified it was Clynelish who footed the table with 3400 to take home the wooden spoon, Glenkinchy in 7th on 4200 with Cragganmore just pipping them to 6th by 200 points. In a Team Challenge Company first there was joint second place finishes for; Cardhu, Dalwhinnie, Glen Elgin and Knockando. But undoubtedly, team of the day were Caol Ila who racked up a massive 5000 points and were unbeaten throughout the day. They took home the magnificent Team Challenge Company trophy to cap off a fantastic day of fun and competition during the Country Pursuits. Well done to all teams who gave it their all! Thank you to Wendy for all of the organistation and hard work you had put into the day, we look forward to round two!

Must say you all gave it your best however the ladies out shone the men in this event. John said it was because they listened to the instructions, haha well John you just might have hit on something there. Weather was terrific if not slightly cold but with the mountains as a backdrop we couldn't complain. Team Glen Elgin were the what can only be described as "great". Well done everyone.

After not being able to pronounce Caol Ila when handing out the team's joker cards - it was written in the stars that i would have to announce them as overall winners at the end of the day. As i said on the day, the koala bears were worthy winners haha. A great day in beautiful Aviemore.
