Crystal Challenge with Velux

Team Challenge Company had the pleasure of hosting Velux for a very enjoyable Crystal Challenge afternoon. The premise is simple; collect crystals by completing challenges to win time for the “Crystal Dome”! The amount of crystals a team has dictates how much time a team spends in the Crystal Dome - the team with the most money collected in the dome, wins!

Our two teams, “One Minute Wonders” and “Average Score Of Four” faced off for our a whole host of challenges including a Giant Puzzle, Riddle Me This, Nail the Wood, Rollerball and Buzz Me

The NASA space challenge tests both your intellect under pressure and your ability to prioritise different pieces of equipment. Each team is given a scenario where the team is stranded on the moon. The teams have to prioritise the list of usable items from most important to least, the more correct answers win. Both teams put in some wonderful guesses, but One Minute Wonders managed to eke out the victory!

Some games require precision. Some games require teamwork. Our game of Clock Tower requires both in equal measure. Four players control a suspended hook towards shaped wooden blocks, with the objective of creating a tower, then disassembling without knocking the construction to the floor. After several near misses, and a collective gasp when the structure shuddered precariously, Average Score Of Four were pipped by two seconds by One Minute Wonders.

The current world record to solve a game of Interlocker is just over seven minutes. We passed out the associated notched planks with the hopeful intention of giving the record for its money. We were sadly disappointed however! What talents our guests possessed as teams, unfortunately did not extend to this game. Having been given a full half hour, with neither team triumphing, we were convinced to allocate Pity Crystals, a Team Challenge Company first!

But after all our fun, there had to be a winning team, and therefore a losing team. One Minute Wonders had a very impressive 100 seconds in the Crystal Dome and picked up a very respectable £3200. All hope was gone for Average Score Of Four. They only had half the amount of time to pull in more money in the dome. But, this day proved that every underdog can become a winner, with them pocketing £3800 and handing the team the victory

We at Team Challenge Company had a wonderful time with Velux and hope to work with them again soon!
