Welcome to the Monday Night Club! A secret society of Staff from consultancy giants Thales Group embarked upon one of the most quaint but idyllic venues west of the Irish Sea tonight. The Old Inn. Nestled picturesquely just outside the hustle and bustle of beautiful Belfast, it would play a marvellous host to our latest offering of evening entertainment. A group of 35 delegates would cut their teeth on the highly popular, fast paced competitive Executive Quiz, set throughout dinner. The three teams would do battle across rounds such as; Name the Movie, Questions in Sport, Capital Cities and Guess Who. The team with the highest points tally at the end of the night would walk away with the biggest prize of all. The highly sought after and fabled Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy. Not only did we have budding enthusiasts from around the doors, but some of our European counterparts were also represented. A strong and exuberant French contingent made up 35% of our quizzers the time round!

Proceedings kicked in to life with an intense Hit or Miss round. One by one they fell in their attempt to win the first bonus points of the evening; the first 5 songs eliminating all but 4 of the hopeful team members. After a few close shaves and some in-team bickering, our winner finally emerged! Going against the grain and out there on his own, it was Allan who took the acclaim with a concise judgement on a Madonna Classic. The Winners were off to a fantastic start, but could they live up to their self-proclaimed title?

It would take something pretty special to beat Team Spirit however, as they tore off the mark to near maximum points over the first 3 rounds. The early front runners had come out the traps at a blistering pace leaving, particularly, team Fat Kids in their wake! The winners hit back with an impressive landmark round as David used his straight forward style of leadership to churn out some results for his side. Stephen and the Fat kids were a little slow in all aspects and never really recovered from a poor start as we neared the turn. Their mascot proving insignificant on a tough sports round. Only winning 30 points! Would this seal their fate and anchor them to the bottom of the pile? Or could they perform a minor miracle to escape the funk that had haunted them since the off? The simple answer was...No! They floundered their way to propping up the rest! Confirmed with 2 rounds to go in fact! This meant that it was a two way tussle at the top. The winners trying their hardest to claw back some ground on the hot favourites, Team Spirit.

Our name the movie round was shared between our top two, scoring 80 points each. This heaped the pressure on to them as we entered our final interactive round. Bridge Build! One by one they had to drive our car to glory. And perhaps to the trophy?! It was neck and neck going up the last second! The difference in class was apparent for all to see though, as the winners crumbled under the magnitude of what was at stake. Even Contraband couldn't prevent Colin from making a successful trip over! They were doomed. Their spirit counterparts lapped up the applause and finished in style. Rubbing salt into the wound and compounding their misery once and for all! A beautifully designed bridge ensuring a safe and steady crossing to a pivotal 50 bonus points!

A fantastic night came to a close amid the enthusiastic cries of our truly tremendous finale. The big winners on the night were Team Spirit who snatched it at the death! A win for our Irish & French friends here! Congratulations to them. The most consistent team reaping the rewards of a fantastic evening. The winners fished second and cursed their luck at some missed opportunities at vital times! And finally, taking home the Wooden Spoon were of course the Fat Kids who fell flat very early on, not adding to their points tally but certainly contributing to the scintillating atmosphere that greeted the event! Thanks to everyone who was involved and to Callum and Allan for making the day run so smoothly. See you all next time!
