Summer sunshine split the trees of Horwood House Hotel as the Jardine Motor Group Conference delegates enjoyed an afternoon of challenging, rewarding and entertaining company team building activities with Team Challenge Company in the shape of our Country Pursuits event package. There was a definite sense of nervous anticipation as our 120 guests broke up into their 14 teams and prepared to do battle across a variety of country pursuits activities and challenges in a bid to finish top of the table and take home the much-coveted Team Challenge Company Winner’s Trophy. Many of our guests had enjoyed their time with us in previous years, and so knew they were in for a treat as the stepped out into the walled gardens of Horwood House into the sea of activities that lay before them. There were a number of highlights right throughout the afternoon, we have included some of our favourites below, and hope they bring back some great memories for you all…

Our highlights reel starts at the Axe Throwing, where one by one teams tried their very best to find the centre of their target with their apache style axes. Let it be said that it looked a lot easier than it turned out to be – with team 7A and Team 5B both struggling for form on this tricky challenge. A couple of our guests actually managed to miss the target so wildly that we are still searching for 2 axes lost in the bushes some distance behind the target zone! The company team building activities continued with our Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and Air Rifle ranges, where Teams 3A and 6A proved that they were absolute sharp-shooters, scoring maximum points toward walking away winners! The Bungee Run Basketball and Mini Highland Games produced some of the most memorable highlights on the day, with some incredibly acrobatic ‘Slam Dunks’ on show from Team 1B, whilst Team 4A kitted themselves out in their Kilts and Jimmy Wigs to Toss the Caber in style! Archery too proved hugely competitive throughout the afternoon team building event, as teams aimed for gold (though rarely found it…especially team 3B!!!) Scores raced in across all activities, and once all team scores were combined, checked and verified (and with only a few small bribes), it was soon time to deliver the final results…!

Before our champions could be announced, we first called up our last place finishers to collect the Wooden Spoon…which this year went to Team 6, who stepped up to rapturous applause as they collected their prize. We ran down through the teams until we were left with only one, this year’s winners, the mighty Team 5…LEGENDS! A fantastic afternoon of company team building activities had been enjoyed by all in attendance (and their was certainly plenty of competitive spirit on show throughout the afternoon!) The entertainment continued into the evening with our Fun Casino Tables, as guests played with fun money to accumulate as much as possible before the final whistle. This really rounded off the day in a truly memorable way, and provided the perfect end to another successful Jardine Motor Group Conference. A big shout out and thank you must go to John, David and Matt for all their effort and hard work in organising such a fantastic fay for the entire Jardine Motor Group Team. It was a pleasure working with you all again this year, and we very much look forward to seeing everybody again soon for the re-match!
