Danone UK — A Global Brand with High Expectations

Danone UK is part of the global Danone Group — one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies, with brands including Evian, Activia, and Aptamil. With a large UK management team and a culture that values energy, passion, and togetherness, the bar for any team event is naturally high.

The context here was particularly important: this was the final dinner of a three-day conference. The energy levels of 100 delegates at the end of an intensive programme needed to be lifted — not drained further by a passive dinner entertainment experience.

The Challenge

High Energy at the End of Three Days — Without Disrupting Dinner

The brief had two non-negotiable constraints: the experience had to work between courses at a seated dinner, and it had to be set up without any visible downtime. For 100 people who had already sat through two full days of content, the experience needed to feel like a release — not another session.

A traditional pub quiz would have been too passive. A physical activity would have been impractical at a dinner table. The solution needed to be high-energy, highly competitive, and logistically seamless — all at the same time.

The Solution

A Bespoke Interactive Quiz — Far Beyond a Traditional Pub Quiz

Team Challenge Company’s Interactive Quiz was selected as the ideal fit — a format that combines physical activities, entertainment, and multi-format question rounds to keep energy high throughout. Crucially, it was designed to run between courses without any setup downtime.

  1. A Bespoke Round for Danone

Our in-house quiz masters developed a custom round based on the Danone management team — screened in advance by the event booker to ensure it landed correctly. On the night, it was met with “a lot of hilarity.”

  2. Zero Downtime Delivery

The quiz was designed to run seamlessly between courses — no stage setup, no awkward pauses, no disruption to the dinner service. The transition was invisible to the delegates.

  3. Multi-Format Rounds

Visual, audio, and cryptic clue rounds ensured every delegate was engaged regardless of their quiz knowledge — the format rewards teamwork and lateral thinking, not just general knowledge.

  4. Physical Activity Elements

Unlike a traditional quiz, physical challenge rounds broke up the seated format and kept energy levels genuinely high throughout the evening — preventing the post-dinner slump entirely.

The Outcome

The Most Memorable Conference Danone Had Ever Run

Laughter and Tears

Helen Williams’ feedback — “not laughed and nearly cried for a long time” — captures exactly what a well-designed event should achieve: genuine, shared emotional experience.

One Fantastic Giant Team

The quiz brought 100 people together at the end of an intensive three days and sent them home feeling genuinely connected — exactly the outcome the brief called for.

Zero Disruption to Dinner

The seamless delivery between courses meant the event enhanced the conference dinner rather than competing with it — a logistical achievement as much as a creative one.

Multiple Repeat Bookings

Danone has since rebooked quiz shows, game shows, Crystal Challenge, and Beat the Box — the clearest possible signal that the relationship delivers consistent value.

“What an evening — not laughed and nearly cried for a long time. Thank you so much for a fab, fun-filled few days. Your entire team provided us with the most memorable conference. From start to finish your level of service has been outstanding, and the Quiz Night was an absolute highlight. You showed us that we are one fantastic, GIANT team!”

Why It Worked

The Principles Behind the Success

Context-Aware Design

The quiz was designed around the dinner format — not shoehorned into it. Zero downtime and between-course delivery showed genuine understanding of the client’s operational constraints.

The Bespoke Round

A custom round about the Danone management team created the hilarity that made the evening unforgettable. Generic content would never have achieved this.

Energy Management

Physical activity elements prevented the post-dinner energy slump. The format was engineered to lift the room, not just occupy it.

Repeat Business

Danone has rebooked multiple times since. Repeat bookings are the most honest measure of whether an event truly delivered — and Danone keeps coming back.

An Ongoing Partnership

Following the success of the Interactive Quiz, Danone UK has continued to book events with Team Challenge Company — including quiz shows, game shows, Crystal Challenge, and Beat the Box. A relationship built on consistently exceptional delivery.
