How it works
Inspired by some incredible Rube Goldberg contraptions, Chain Reaction Lifesize gets teams thinking about the consequences of their contribution to a team effort.
Participants begin by analysing their collection of recycled materials and planning how they will use the materials in their section to create their contraptions. Each team’s section must work correctly, and they must communicate with teams nearby to ensure they will connect.
After testing and making tweaks to all of the individual components in the room, to great anticipation, the final reaction is triggered. Will it work? Has everyone succeeded?
Effective teams will have assessed the available resources, made a rough plan, and then throughout their construction, appraised and adapted that plan. This experience helps participants develop a common vision, a shared strategy and then put it into place. It is a very effective sharpener for project management skills and offers the incredibly satisfying reward of seeing all of your hard work come to fruition.
