How it works

Teams explore the concept of a chain reaction and share the knowledge gathered from detailed game cards on how they can best work together. They then develop a plan to construct and test a series of simple chain reaction machines on their table-top before the fun starts – testing their effectiveness.

Next, teams must co-operate with others across the board to join and link their simple machines to the adjoining table tops. Utilising pulleys, leavers, and gravity, teams must create one giant, collaborative chain reaction machine. After testing and making tweaks to all the individual components in the room, the final reaction is triggered.

The most successful teams will have assessed the available resources, made a rough plan, and then throughout their construction, appraised and adapted that plan. This experience helps a team develop a common vision, a shared strategy and then put it into place.

Collaboration

Improving collaboration across a team is probably the number one way we can help to improve a team’s performance. If you don’t communicate, you can’t collaborate. We start with communication and get it flowing, then get everyone working together. We have found that creating long-term change in the way teams collaborate can be as simple as getting them into a creative frame of mind. Whether the team task is to work together or compete is up to you.

Creativity

Flexing your creative muscles is an ingeniously fun way of improving your problem-solving skills. These skills can make a big difference to how teams approach their day to day, back in the workplace. Our creative experiences allow participants to explore within themselves and collaboratively as teams. Ultimately, these experiences are massively rewarding.
