The beautiful Houston House Hotel near Livingston was the ideal setting for our latest outdoor corporate entertainment ideas Country Pursuits style event. A group of 20 battled it out to be top dog over the course of Archery, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting and a Mini Highland Games finale. The prize on offer was the lavish Team Challenge Company winners trophy! The 4 teams were greeted by a beautiful sunny day, complimented spectacularly by the beautifully manicured hotel grounds. The Spooners got off to a flyer on archery with some sharp shooting from the off. Each arrow becoming more and more devastatingly accurate. The Trossachs seemed over the hill with some tired looking arrows and couldn't keep up with the early front runners. Even David trying to rise like a phoenix with some captains arrows couldn't drag his team into contention. The Apooners were lethal in the bulls eye round and racked up an unassailable lead. Thunderscore and The shorts also gave it there all on the archery.

The prize for most improved definitely going to Liz! It was neck and neck all the way up to the final balloon round where john felt the heat and crumbled! Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting was hotly contested with with the Trossachs storming back from an early setback and staking their claim towards the trophy. The shorts came up a little short on the guns with 2 dubious performances and put a massive dent in their title ambitions. The Spooners went from the big spoon to the little spoon as they also shot themselves in the foot at the Clays with a low score. Thunderscore rumbled back into contention with some glorious and deadly shots. Like lightening they cracked their way back up the leader board! There was nothing in it as the teams entered the mini highland games finale. A few points either way could mean glory! The shorts blasted their way back into the running with an inspiring performance on the welly throw. Thunderscore were more like blunder more as their wellies were inaccurate and lacked conviction. A costly error at this late stage.

The Spooners set their sights on glory and romped home in convincing fashion on the Haggis roll. The Trossachs well beaten with a look of resignation on their face as their trophy chances derailed at the final hour. The Shorts were exceptional on Caber Toss, as were the Spooners! In the grand finale Stone lift was intense and hotly contested. Anthony setting the bar really high and proving he is twice as strong as he looks! The minute barrier broken regularly! In the end with a stomping time of 1 minute 15 the glory and the trophy went to the shorts on 8400 points for the day. 2nd was the Trossachs on 7900, 3rd The Spooners on 7800 and unfortunately the wooden spoon went to Thunderscore on 7200 points. A fantastic day of competitive spirit and fun in a great location. Thank you to David who ensured the day ran so smoothly. See you all very soon for the rematch
