TCC once again embarked on a mammoth road trip this week, pit stopping in the beautiful city of Bristol. A mouth-watering double header ensued! The highly competitive and up tempo race night was followed by a vibrant morning of fun, interactive team building days. The elegant Mercure Holland House Hotel would play fantastic host to what would prove to be an amazing and entertaining few days!

The atmosphere started to build as the group of around 50 from Accor hotels finished off the sumptuous Indian Spread. With the succulent scent of traditional India still circulating around the beautifully dressed orchard suite, the teams knew it was down to business. The award for top punters on the night was of course the coveted and highly sought after Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy! There's no show without pinch however! The dreaded wooden spoon of doom lurked in the shadows willing itself to be presented to the big losers on the night!

Each team had £200 of fun money to compete with. This would prove to be a measly sum for one team in particular a little later in the evening. The night kicked off with a marathon game of hit or miss! Taking 14 classic tracks to separate the good from the exceptional! In a scintillating final round, James guessed correctly to walk away with big bucks for his team. A sterling performance under pressure at this early stage!

A whole host of races including horses and drag racing really set the tempo for the subsequent rounds. Each team betting frantically on who they thought would triumph! Some teams went for a slow, steady and measured approach. A sensible strategy in theory, but would they win big enough to make a real impact? Others hedged all of their bets early and went for broke! Surprisingly paying off on some occasions! Each race began with a tumultuous crack of raucous applause as they began to come thick and fast. The in house bookmakers were swamped with some unbelievable bets, handing over money like it was going out of fashion! Each win was celebrated like a World Cup hat trick and every loss greeted with glum and reflective faces!

As the night steamrolled on the lust for taking home the trophy grew ever more prominent. As the big winners began to pull away from the chasing pack the destination of the gong would change hands on several occasions. On a special note, Dana and her team were the only ones to become broke early! With their tales between their legs they succumbed to borrowing £50 from the bank! Their misery was compounded when they indeed finished dead last on.... Wait for it..... -£10! A very humbling experience indeed. They weren't the only team that couldn't pick their nose however. A few meagre profits were posted by the mid table teams! After all was said and done a truly wonderful evening was rounded off by team 6 grabbing the glory on an astounding £1700! What an achievement! The group embraced after what was a captivating campaign. Well done to our worthy winners. As the group enjoyed themselves deep into the night, they lay safe in the knowledge that they wouldn't have to wait too long for the chance to get their teeth into another competition.

As the cold February night transcended into a new day, some of the Accor Group clung on to the hope of redeeming themselves in what would be a fast paced, intense morning of team building! 6 brand new groups would battle it out, head to head, to be crowned overall champions of what was turning in to be a truly memorable experience at one of Bristols most premier hotels! The hangovers dusted away the cobwebs with an efficient and professional performance as they won maximum points on the helium stick! Off to a flyer! Team Andy and the red bull Stars lacked any real class or commitment as they fell behind early on! They would bounce back at the Crane Construction Challenge though burying the demons that haunted them in the first game! Steve and team dumbeldor did their all but fell just short of a top score at the crane! Team Scotland were the most impressive with a 78 inch lift from the floor! Hitting dizzy heights at the half way stage! The warzwls really struggled on NASA and a Interlocker posting dismal scores each time! They would be lucky to avoid bottom position after this outing. Teams Andy and Scotland however kept up their assault on the trophy with unbelievable performances on Interlocker and NASA.

Bridge build, our finale, was to prove pivotal in the outcome of the morning. A massive 500 bonus points were awarded for a successful run. As the teams knew it was make or break some crumbled in the face of fear and others excelled. A variety of weird and wonderful bridge designs graced the TCC podiums for the final time. A rapturous crescendo of noise and tension ensued as one by one the drivers gave it their all! Team Andy were very handy and roared to glory! Dumbledors were magic as they also propelled themselves into contention. Warzels were looking to claw back some pride and did just that with a proud finish! After all was said and done, the shouting, conspiring, laughter and despair the scores were on the doors!!! What another amazing few hours with what were a happy, engaging, welcoming and competitive group of people. In dead last... The red bull stars failed to shine as their early promise dwindled! The worzels avoided catastrophe in 5th! Joint 3rd were the hangovers and dumbledors. Just missing out out on glory were team Scotland who proved they were the experts at glorious failure once more! Noble and proud in defeat they relinquished their crown to the table topping Team Andy! Worthy winners of a great competition. Thank you for the memories and to Steve and all of the fun!
